Hello
Thanks on the info on my last query and this is the update from my side
I had been to the Gynac this week to do a papsmear and also for my irregular cycles.
I told her that i would like to go for secondas i was running 30but she said like i hhave 5 more yrs to go,she is infertility spec too which i didnt know till i went there.i aslo told her abt my previous history, she did the physical and papsmear and told me to come for infertlity visit.
She told me my husband should do the semen count ,and other routine tests.wat do u say Archie are these all necessary, can't she start me on medicines directly
She did not give me any medicine to get the periods too,Took my blood sample and told me we will start after that,That's ok but she asked to come for infertlity visit and take ana appointment for that, this has made me to think???
Also one more thing is am running 30 now am 77 Kgs,height 5'2(i was always overweight, but this weight was like ashock to me ,then i understood why i was getting severe back pain and other joint pains)
wat do u suggest shall i reduce weight and then start going to doctor,i just don't know wat to do,when i asked her if reducing weight will i get pregnant easily?she said not necessary but may help in having healthy pregnancy.
I am just thinking now will it be ever possile and the doctor's approach was right or not
wat do u say Archie?shall i reduce and then see,but i feel as if iam loosing time and morever that fear always is there whether it will happen or not.
Just going nuts thinkingall this.
Iam not able to resist food ,but i started going to gym from 3 days which i never did all this while.
I have lot of fat to reduce on the tummy ?
I don't feel well nowadays with right shoulder paina and pain inthe joints in teh fingers which started recently too,all these things malke me think too,u know wat i mean
wat do u say??and after all this the receptionist gave me list for estimate of fees for ovulation induction cycle, she asked me chec with insurance whether they cover or not??also forms to be filled in for female and male patient history
I didnot get acall abt the blood tests still.
I really don't know wat i should do now, lose weight or fix the appt,Pls suggest.
One thought should i change teh doctor?Doctor i sd oding her work as she is infertilty specialist
(when i searched on the net ,it said Ob/gyn),one way it's good but...
i know i shouldn't ask u all these ,but just felt like telling u wat iam going thru.
previous doctor for the first pregnancy was not like this so am surprised too

Dear Naveena,
It's interesting to note the perspective of your Dr.
Here are my thoughts and you can see if these will help you making decision.

Should you go for Infertility tests?
Knowing that you suffered from PCOS and you required medication to regulate cycle while you were ttc for first pregnancy and experience similar erratic cycles you may be candidate to be investigated for PCOS once again and try the same medication that you took before getting pregnant with first baby.
Since you are just thinking and actively trying it might be a little too early to test semen of your spouse but won't hurt if it's done.
Certain hormones regulating cycles and also involving in reproductive biology can be tested but again they can wait until confirmed if your case is PCOS or different.
all together there is no harm in undergoing tests provided your insurance cover most if not all expenses. Otherwise it would be number of tests those could be alleviated at this stage and you would pay from the pocket.

Should you need to reduce weight before going for tests?
I think whether you are on medication or not you definitely need to shed weight. I am certain that the gymnastic activities are going to lead you on right path and there are chances that you may experience some regularity in cycles.
Yes, like your Dr. said if you go for infertility treatment hardly it would be a matter whether you are overweight or within range. But it sure would be a plus point if you keep weight in limit to enjoy a healthy pregnancy.
I would suggest to go on aerobics and gym activities regardless whether you are undergoing tests/treatment. Once you are on medication we can decide when to curtail your exercise and to what extend. Now that you have taken step towards gym lets not look back and enjoy weight loss.

weight gain can sometime be due to thyroid conditions and that also can lead to irregular cycles, but treatments are there which will help regularizing cycle provided that's the only reason for erratic cycles. If this is combined with PCOS then a set of treatments would be needed. There are people who get pregnant with thyroid conditions without treatment although it's tough to track ovulation but possible to get pregnant.

What I am wondering is why did you change your OB? Is it that your OB is out of network or you moved to different part of city or changed city so had to change Dr. The confidence in Dr. and treatment is must if you are not happy then change is a best option.
