Anybody taking up NST. My doc advised me to take this up in the 36th week. What do they actually do? What you need to be aware of?

Hi,

I had NSTs done form 35th week during my pregnancy. Is it a Non stress test. During this test your doctor will monitor & record the babys heart rate and contractions that you may be having. You may actually be having some light contractions or BHCs and may or may not feel them but they are recorded by the monitors and and the corresponding baby heart rate is measured to see how baby reacts to the contractions. It takes about 20 minutes.

They will ask you to lie down or sit in a relaxed lounge chair kind a seat and put two belts around your tummy, there are two transducers attached to these belts, one for the babys heart rate and the other to measure the contractions. They will also give you a switch and ask you to click that switch when ever you feel your baby move.

It is a non invasive test and you will get to relax and have fun watching your babys heart rate on the monitor and hear the beep beep beep...

Doctors schedule these tests as a precaution if they feel you need to be monitored. Just relax and enjoy your alone time with you baby.

In pregnancy you can eat all type of fruits but papaya must not be taken.Guava is good for heath and i heard it is equal to five apples also.So i think you can eat so happily. ... - Geeta [View Message]
