which rice do u use for baby? i tried basmati but she doesn't seem to like it, may be because it doesn't get mashed that well. She likes only well puried food.

Basmati or any rice..
I cook it with ToorDal and Veg or jus moongdal(like pongal) and add salt jeera and ajwain a lil too.
Pressure cook for atleast 10 whistles
and then I blend it in mixie.
They dont eat if I mash it by myself.
Coz of the Gerber foods they got used to perfect puried ones.
Put more dal and veggies and ghee, if they dont like rice taste...

I give the same rice that we eat,i.e sona masoori.
Usually the first time u give rice, they wld spit it out.But keep trying and maybe after 2 or 3 days they will start eating.After u pressure cook the rice, u can mash it in a blender along with the dal and the veggies.U can then add ghee and salt to it.
Babies usually like this.One of my friends told me another way of doing it .She asked me to take already cooked rice, dal , veggies, half clove of garlic,2 pinch of jeera, a lill bit of hing and pressure cook them with enough water for 5-6 whistles.So when this is done it usually is almost mashed.U can mash it further with a ladle or ur hand.
So u can try either way.

I am facing the same here .Ayush didn't eat rice when I gave him,he spit it out :-(
