hi girls,
how do u manage ur crawler babies? i'm a stay at home mom and find it very difficult to manage him. i cannot be with him all the time. he wants to touch everything, which is ofcourse normal, but there r certain things at home which cannot be baby proofed. i hv baby proofed the electrical outlets, sharp edges of tables, etc. but certain things like our entertainment center has cd racks which r very sharp and i cannot baby proof it, so he goes there and i hv to bring him back. what to do?
also he is now sitting without help and standing with support. as a result, he loses balance all the time and keeps falling on his head. r u experiencing the same with ur babies? what do u do? since he wants freedom, i cannot keep him confined to a bouncer or swing. he screams if i keep him in that (though its safe). so when i keep him down, he falls and hits his head, this happens atleast 10 times a day. is it normal? what shd i be doing to prevent it. also when i keep him in his crib, he falls down and hits the railings. i hv heighteined his crib and so the bumper is too small to protect him from getting hurt. pls advise.
also pls tell me what is a jumperoo, i read that a lot in the message boards and how much does it cost.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY WALKERS. IF u don't know, please read. walkers delay the process of learning to walk. It's a proven fact. I have seen my friends daughter who have used walker and couldn't walk until 13 months. Do whatever necessary to protect them. u cannot restrict them all the time.

Babys are NOT meant to sit quietly at one place. They have to learn new things.

you could try a walker , then the baby is safe cannot fall and can walk around the house but cant touch much as the width of the walker protects the baby from all side .
good luck

Hi
Ur in the same boat as me.Even my baby hurts himself 5-6 times a day and he has even fallen from his crib, our bed etc .
I think its all a part of growing up and babies are curious ,no matter how much u baby proof the house he will get into mischief always.
Sometimes when its not too dangerous allow him to explore.Slowly they will become cautious on their own.For example our baby was always falling off trying to get down from the mattress on the floor not very high. But a few days back i was surprised to see him first go to the edge ,then put one hand down to measure how far the floor is,put that hand on the floor, then another hand ,then another leg and then the other one. Then i realized he is on the stage. But the rest of the things he is like ur baby ,always falling down hurting himself.I leave him to explore but keep my eyes open in case he goes towards dangerous things like u mentioned CD rack etc.If they are too dangerous u can get baby safety gates and put gates around those things and the baby can't reach them.
Hope this helps but u are not alone ,I am also in the same boat as urs.
