Hi friends,
Just wondering how do you all give your kids milk. Do you add sugar to it? Till when should we not add sugar? Nikku gives me a hard time sometimes when I give her milk and so I was wondering whether adding little sugar is fine. She is anyways not overweight, infact she can gain some more pounds.. Please share your thoughts..

Bhairavi.

Suchie replied. I started giving milk lately, but i didnot add sugar and my DD is okay with it.
pls. try avoiding the sugar, cause once they know they get sugar when they dont drink milk , they would ask for sugar every time. The kids are very smart - they know how to get things.

Hetal replied. i consider milk as a daily 2-3times of feeds so i avoid givin sugar and she was ok with that. main reason for me was she was drinking milk without sugar as well..
prev i used to sprinkle some but i stopped it...and still she was fine..
as far as your baby is drinking milk without ne additions, why provide nething thats actually not needed or is necessary or one way its better babies stay away from sugary treats as much as you can prolong the time.
otherwisee, like aarti said, once a while, no problemo at all..as it is we are offering many things like in these festivals days all those sweets and stuffs,,and i think thats enough dosage of sweetness to their diet,,as of now..
so you decide,it all depends on your baby preferences, taste and his acceptance to things.
Arti replied. Hi Bhairavi, Sugar is always good in its natural forms, like from fruits, carbs etc. adding more on top of that could be harmful you can read that anywhere.
having said that I don't mind adding sugar to arjun's milk once in a while , or offering him a dessert if we are having some.
Sheetal replied. Hi Bhairavi,
as far as i know, we are to avoid extra sugar as much as we can coz that makes the kids hyperactive. Do you give your lil one cold or warm milk? Perhaps changing that could make her drink some milk. I give Anushka her milk straight out of the fridge. Cold!!! She likes it that way. Just an idea. Or perhaps changing to some fun sippy cup. I think adding sugar should be your last option.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
