Hi My baby 6.5 months started in Stage 1 Gerber Food.When do we start Stage 2 ,as Stage 2 also has fruits and veggies .

Hi Nick ,
Gerber website says that when baby is in sitter stage then stage 2 is ok . I think it is better you seek the opinion of your baby's pediatrician .

Hey Nick, this is what I know about stage2 foods..

There is not much difference in Stage 1 and Stage 2 at all other than the size of the jar. I know you already know this but you should never feed directly from the jar then save it so when using stage 2 if they are not going to eat it all put it in a bowl to feed it to them then save the rest in the jar for the next time.

The other thing is stage 2 starts mixing things such as sweet potatoes and apples, meats are introduced in this stage also. I would not feed any of those to a baby younger than 6 /7 months and no meats till around 8/9 months but that's just my opinion. I think it depends on how well they are doing with their eating too. If they have a bad gag reflex then you don't want to give them anything a little more textured.
