I am in 18th week and I got my Triple test results with high risk..I am 24 yrs old and my risk rate is 1 in 46.so is there any body with high risk.Please let me know.I am just worried.I am having my Ultra Sound on Feb 22nd.Nobody in my family or in my husband family is having downsyndrome.

Hi Siri,
One of my friend had the same problem. her tripple test result was with high risk. So as per her doctor' s advice she went to another diagnostic centre for second opinion and get her tripple test done once again and to our surprise the result was no risk at all !There was mistake in calculation in her first result as she was not regular in her periods. And now she gave birth to a normal baby boy. Besides, Siri your doctor would have suggested to go for ultrasound first as, if there are any small chances of downsyndrome , then it is seen in the ultrasound itself and also Ultrasound results are counted in tripple test. So don' t worry and go for your ultrasound test first and also let your sonsographist know that you have high risk in the tripple test so please check it with perfect accuracy. If possible go for 3D-4D ultrasound as these have more accurate findings for downsyndrome. And also tripple test have false positive results. SO Please don' t worry and have faith in GOD ! All the best !

Thanks Deepa....I am worrying a lot because I already got miscarried in sep 2007 that was spontaneous.It was happend in starting day of 3rd month.I left it to God only....Thanks for your support Deepa

well don' t wrry much...triple test many times gives a false positive....as its just a screening test... so wait for ur Ultra sound and if still the doc suggest tht der is a high risk then u can go for amniocentesis to be 100% sure.... so till u knw where u stand think positive..
