I hope everyone must have gone for the 6mos
appt by now,i was wondering how much does ur baby weigh at this point of time??I had Tanaaz's
6 mos appt 2day,well it was not a gr8 appt though
Tanaaz's Ht is perfect,head circum..is perfect but as for the weight concern she is not satisfied with it,Tanaaz weighs 13lbs 12 oz only,also Dr said she has not gained much frm the prev appt which was on her 4th month,but at this point(6 mos)she has to double the birth weight t seems..
i am so worried now..i am trying to increase her solid intake now onwards,even be4 also she was eating little better :-( donno y she has not gained weight..so right now she is on 10 percentile...how can i increase her weight,pls give me some suggestions, r else i will go mad..sorry to vent here...give my hugs & kisses to all ur cutie's

Don't worry much.Arnav also dropped from 45 to 25 percentile this time.Doc asked me to give more solids atleast 3-4 times a day.If Tanaaz is active then u don't need to worry .also formula intake must be around 24-28 oz I think..Keep track of her food intake and discuss with ur doc.

Suni is right..don't freak out..be calm and think what u can do.
Firstly keep a track of intake Tanaaz takes in a day..the maximum i can pump from the time anu has started her solids is 4-5 oz..and dwindles down in the eveinings..but ofcourse that could be because i am not feeding direct and 4 ozunces is not enof for anu maybe for just for 1 1/2 or 2 hours.
Increase her solids by half a tablespoon every week if possible.
If u are bottle feeding changing the nipple to stage 2/3 will also help them drink a lot more in short period.
Don't worry..I am sure tanaaz will be fine..sometimes kids are genetically of low wt.too..ssome may be very active, eat well..but don't put on much wt. so as long as she is fine, not crying often,not tired,eating and sleeping well and an active baby, just enjoy time with her without worrying.

Radhika Ritu replied. Please dont panic . First call the pediatrician's office ask them for a diet plan for Tanaaz . Let them tell you which all foods can increase weight . Then ask them about how much Formula or breast milk she needs daily . Just write her daily intake on paper to compare with recommended intake . Also is she passing stools regularly ? Is she burping well ? Discuss with the pediatrician .

What is your baby's diet now, in terms of solids what do you feed her? Also, do you nurse her directly or pump? Presently, your baby needs atleast 24 - 28 oz of milk/formula supplemented by breakfast, lunch and dinner.....for starters while you are testing allergies, breakfast and dinner is cereal, with lunch as veggies. Use the jarred food as they preserve all nutrients of the veggies/fruits. You can visit the Gerber site to get a menu plan for your sitter baby. Having such a menu takes out the complexity/confusion of what to give on a daily basis. Additionally, if you are directly nursing her, there is a possibility that your milk supply has reduced and she is not getting enough. Pumping and bottle feeding will help you keep a better count of how much her actual intake is. Or you need to supplement with formula.
I do hope Tanaaz starts picking up, and dont worry too much....just make an action plan, and go at it!
