Does anyone know abt white spots in nails. is it due to any lack of deficiency or what may be??

Medically speaking, those little white marks that sometimes appear as dots or lines on the fingernail are known as leukonychia. There are several possible causes for the discoloration, but the most common are mild trauma or hard hit to the nail, a fungal infection, skin conditions, or nutritional deficiencies esp zinc or are indicative of obstruction in blood circulation.
White marks on your nails that are more linear could be a sign of a fungal infection; that might caused at ne visit of ne public visits at gym,swimming pools,or ne other place of activity. these are common places for contracting infections.if there are more than a couple of them in different nails or in each nail, your baby needs a dr attention.

otherwise,most human bodies including newly toddlers have a good immune to fight to it and get recovery from it in couple weeks or a month without ne medication.
Note, these white dots appear at the cuticle end of the nail and grow out. If white dots appears at the tip of the nail it may be fungi.also make sure they dont discolour further to yellowish appearance.if so, contact your dr immediately.

Finally, an old wives' tale fingers another suspect: your diet. In folklore, the most commonly cited cause for those white marks (and probably something your mom warned you about in past) is a deficiency of certain minerals in your body, such as zinc , calcium or vit A.. Adding nutritional supplements or foods containing these minerals & green leafy vegetables, to your diet could clear up your white flecks in a few months or even weaks. also, diet containing more fiber is recommended as this could be just the sign of recurring but mild constipation in any human body including toddlers.
