Due Date Club December 2006:Plz advice Archie and others..URGENT!!!

Hi Archie,

Iam 18 weeks + 4days pregnant now. Yesterday and today i noticed some kind of colorless, slightly sticky discharge from the left breast just enought to wet a small portion of the undergarment. On drying, the cloth becomes slightly stiff at that area. But i couldn't find any discharge on pressing the breasts. Does milk production start so early in pregnancy? Or is it something else? Iam so tensed that i can't make myself up to call the Doctor and check. Plz advice

Regards,
Naina

Naina,
it's normal for colostrum to leak. do not press breast or nipples however. try to wash the liquid while taking shower. You are not alone. I would suggest to report if this is has a color or pinkish tint, as long as it's colorless or creamy is fine so that be sticky or not sticky.

Hey Naina,

From what i've read, it should be colostrum, which is quite normal. Some people have it as early as 10-12 weeks and for some it may start as late as 20-22 weeks. So i guess it should be nothing to worry about. If you are in Us you could use breast pads, that should help.

I would say you should call up your doctor as well just to be sure everything is fine. So dont worry too much just relax, and take it easy. This is not the time to get tensed.

Take care
Poochy

Hi Archie & Poochy,
