Waiting to try:For Kendra

Kendra,
What I will write will definitely sound strange and unwelcoming but I have to.

You are on internet and the board where people talk about how to hang inthere while ttc or before ttc. I also believe you read other boards about pregnancy around here and on other sites. Having said that you are pretty much aware of what is \";prenatal care is and how important it is\";. The best of all you are ttc and missed period nearly for 3 months.

Why on the face of earth you want to wait for more days? Do you really have a any sensible and significant reasont to avoid this.

Do you think we telling you that you are pregnant will assure about the fact. Negative hpt signifies no pregnancy. If you don't get period for three months, face some pregnancy symptoms (which by the way are not that strong and can be due to elevated progesterone) why don't you want to see a Dr.
I do not buy your argument of your Dr. is in walk in clinic and most of the time he is not there. What if he is not there when you plan to go there and you end up delivering baby without any prenatal care, do you think the life within you, if you are pregnant, deserves to be not taken care when it's necessary.

Wake up and put your acts together. I think suffice to say that you have not bothered to eat Folic acid in whole first trimester, which you did not mention if you ate one.

It's very important for you to see a gynecologist to establish pregnancy or know real reason behind failure of hpt and not getting period.

Feeling like period is on it's way but not experiencing and vaginal discharge are pregnancy symptoms. But sometime it also is due to elevated levels of progesterone. For some reason if the progesterone levels are high then ovulation would not work just in case you are not pregnant. Which is also a possibility from your negative hpts.

Sweetie, at this stage, missed period for 3 months, you should get a positive pregnancy test regardless of brand and time when you take test.

No one is going to assure about pregnancy without having internal checkup, some blood work and obviously pelvic ultrasound.

I may have been strong but that's only because of your carelessness and providing unacceptable arguments.

Wish you good luck
Archie

Subject:  For archie - could it be psychosomatic?

Dear Archie,

After going through Kendra's messages, I remembered a friend of mine who had similar symptoms - no periods, nausea, etc but pregnancy test was -ve. Her doctor told her that it was more of a psychological problem - she was so desperate for a baby that her body started showing symptoms.....could it be true or was the doctor lying?

Dear Mita,
your friend had mind games going on and on that line her Dr. is perfectly right.
It happens when you fail to conceive and want it so desperately your mind is totally concentrated on pregnancy symptoms and believe it or not you get to feel them in each of the luteal phase. Because of stress sometime your luteal phase extends, which by the put patient in confusion as to if this is real missed period. When one take test obviously it's negative and adds to confusion more.
I have known cases where they gave up on ttc and got pregnant right in the next cycle. This only assures that they were overly stressed and experiencing mind games, you can call this pychological or pychosomatia.

Hi Archie,
I understand what you are saying, Trust me I do, if I read someone who wrote the samething I did I would have said the samething you did. You have to understand that Growinf up and having irragular periods and going 7 months without a period and HAVING THE SYMPTOMS of being prego taking hpt and going to the doc and his test showed positive and then taking a blood test and showing negative, only to find out it was \"; the phantom baby\"; as the doc put it, where my body thought I was pregnant only to find out I wasn't was VERY hard to handle. My Doctor sent me to a gyno and she had said everything is normal, she had no explanation to why this was going on with me, telling my doctor if it continues to seek more action. But he choose not to carry on.

For the last 2 years, my periods have been regular on time going for a full 7 days. Then in September I started to have 2-5 day periods. But that lasted only till November AND December having 7 days again, now nothing at all. So I guess you could say I am scared to find out that NOW I want to be pregnant, and scared to find out I am not, that I am gaining all this weight and geting sick, and having cramps ect ect that again it is the \";phantom baby\";. Finding the first hpt a faint positive I was excited. But to please everyone else, I did it again the next morning only to find out it was negative, does a bit of a toll on you.

As far as my doctor it is true I don't know where you live but, there are more walk in clinics then family doctors here in london ontario. My Doctor comes and goes. the other doc wont see me because I deal with Dr. Bowman because I have Myofacial pain disease and Fybro. And he is the one who had written me off of work and on disibility. I have to call the night before to see if he is going to be there the next day, and there have been times that he decides not to come when I show up that morning. Trust me it isn't that I don't want to know or that I don't care what is going on I really do, and I hope that these symptoms are for real. But at the same time I guess you can say it is fear that I am not and fear that again things are going to be pushed aside and not looked at to why is my body going through this again!

So I can understand what you are saying. I came on here to ask if what I am feeling is real. is it possible to have these sypmtoms and still have a negitive responce, before I start to get worked up again, only to be let down. Please understand my story first.

Dear Kendra,
I do understand your story. But understanding whole part I am even more concerned. You should take steps to Drs. office asap than sitting home.

Did you mean you have Fibroid? you mentioned Fybro-
If you have and is growing then you could face these symptoms.
you need a gynecologist.
