Due Date Club July 2005:Hetal and Sheeja

Hi Sheeja and Hetal, Thanks for writing to me. Yes, I am back to work and Arjun is back to day-care. He was having some loose stools due to teething before but now he is fine- last week I worked from home for a day and hubby also worked from home for a day so Arjun went to day-care for only three days. We are planning to repeat the same this week so that we can spend more time with Arjun.
For weaning, I am planning to make some diet changes for myself before proceeding. Weaning Arjun is going to be a tough job I think because he enjoys that time. Also he wakes up 4-5 times at night for breastfeed. Also when I thought over it I myself don't want wean him completely, I just want him to sleep through the night without relying on me. Hetal, after reading your response I got way too emotional. I could hardly imagine how much courage it would have taken for you to go through that process. I am happy that your efforts paid off. Lets see how it goes for me I have my fingers crossed.

Sheeja, Arjun is well now and am back to work. Its hard to manage both and I miss spending time with Arjun. I am glad to know that weaning was such a smooth process for you. I hope Arjun will decide one day that he is fine without breast feed - wouldn't it be damn easy. I guess I'll always have one thing or another to ponder upon. When Arjun wasn't latching I used to worry whether I would be able to ever feed him and now I worry whether he would ever let go. Funny :) he na.

Anyways, thanks gals for your tips. Hetal, I'll write to you on your yahoo address. Till then take care.

hi Arti, good that he is going to daycare. does he cry when u leave him at daycare??? From next month Trisha will be going to Gymberoo class.
About weaning, i read somewhere that most babies will lose interest at some stage. u can wait for that stage, but dont wait too long. coz 1yr old toddler has good memory power than infant.the more u wait, they will be adament to breast.

Arti, waking 4-5 times evernite for feeding-does he get his tummy ful every day time???is he getting enough solids everyday? my hearty advise is talk to his ped. bcoz this stage they need 10-11hr complete rest every nite.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
