Do all of us deliver exactly on due date?
How do we know when we will deliver??

Ok it was ur last working day today! Did ur colleagues give you a special kind of farewell.
Tomorrow is my check up.She ll do an internal examination tomorrow. You know i never had an internal examination before. Did you have? After that maybe she ll be able to decide when can the baby be expected....
its the 39th week na. so i can deliver any time. Let s see..
You are done with baby shower and stuff i think na?

Hi Prathibha

Hi,
Internal examination was very uncomfortable and it did hurt too..it was my first one and i was kinda stiff unable to relax myself which made the doc difficult to examine. I feel labour is all about relaxing. You need to be really relaxed..
I am not scaring you. Just because my internal was tough does not mean yours also will be the same... In some situations i am a stiff person by nature... Just be relaxed and don t be embarassed about anything.. it ll be fine.

i get 90 days of maternity leave.Hav to decide later abt more leave or taking a gud long brk :)

After internal examn she said my cervix is soft but still long... So it might take another week.... yeah i had by baby shower in the 8th month

Due date

Hi Prathibha,
I am from Mangalore. my due date is on august 14th.. Let s see when the baby decides to come.. Today is my last scan.. Doc has told that the head is fixed..

hi am from april 2007 board, as supriya told due date is rough estimate,, i delivered a baby boy 10 days before my due date,, generally boy babies born before due date most of the time and girl babies exactly or after that

From which source did you get this info that - " generally boy babies born before due date most of the time and girl babies exactly or after that" ??? Because this is not a medical fact. I know several people who went past due dates and had boys..In fact most first time moms go past due date (according to medical surveys)...regardless of the gender of the baby...

Hi Prathibha,
I too just joined the club. Only 5% of babies arrive on the due date. Due date is just a rough estimation.. there can be variation... It also depends upon ur menstrual cyle and the time when you concieved
