Subject:  Medicines prescribed by doc

Hi

I have been on folic acid since my first check up. My doc said it is essential for baby' s growth. I have not been given any other medicine. During my earlier pregnancy too, only folic acid was prescribed in the first three months and calcium was prescribed from second trimester onwards.

Anyway I guess each one has slightly different needs. So go with what yr doc says.

Hi Uttara,

I am at the 10th week and this is my second pregnancy.

Nausea, headache etc. are normal. I was nauseating till late in the fourth month last time.

I think the trick is to avoid the things you don' t like. For example, I don' t like tea, chicken, egss, etc. at all now but I enjoy yogurt with some sugar, bread and butter, fresh fruits and lemon water coz it eases the nauseating feeling.

I can' t cook at all coz I vomit at the slightest smell of onions and garlic so I avoid it.

The idea is to understand that each one has different aversions and different likings during this time. Observe the things that makes you feel good and try to avoid those that make you feel nauseated.

Take rest whenever you feel tired or have a headache...maybe just a 10-15 minute nap but it does wonders.

There is nothing to be scared about. Eat healthy and take proper rest. Listen to music, read joke books etc. Try to divert your mind away from the nauseating feeling by doing things you enjoy.

And most important of all...you are not alone. A lot of us are going through or have gone through this stage.

AG

Thanks a lot for the advise....I will surely try to implement.....anyways I have been on leave from my work for the past many days since the last visit to my doc..

Is calcium tabs started at the 3rd month? Since as i told before she is told me that there is 1 wk lag in the baby´ s growth...think abt it , gives me shivers..

hi
My son also had the same problem his legs used to shiver my doc said it is due to calcium defieciency b.coz I was calcium deficient. She gave him a tonic for 2 mnths it cured after that. The reason why ur baby' s leg is shivering may be this. Plz contact ur doc and take necessary steps as soon as possible.... - Sahila Gupta [View Message]

Not to worry
If you want a normal delivery, ask your doc first to try vaginal delivery if not then go for forceps delivery where baby can taken out with the help of tongs...
