Planning a Baby  Discussion Forum

Hi am turnign 29 this year and been married for 2 years. So after much thought we've decided that maybe this year should be the year to start on a baby. Am quite excited. We've decided to start working on it around April and quit frankly i can't wait. However am a bit worried; 1) I work and I wouldn't want to be troubled by morning sickness. Pls tell me whether it stops after a while , what can be done to prevent etc 2) we've planning to move abroad so am wondering whether we shouldn't wait until we're settled down abroad first but the thing that worries me is the age thingy, ie might take time to settle and in the meantime clock ticks! 3) once pregnant, how do I announce it to my parents, to them am their little girl. Before deciding to go for a baby, its very important to decide a few things. First of all u've mentioned that u guys will be moving abroad, which means u will leave ur present work, isnt it? Will u find work after u go abroad or are u planning to be at home, coz if u plan to be at home, then I dont think it will be much of a problem. I have not yet been pregnant so personally dont know abt morning sickness but it depends from woman to woman. Some experience lot of morning sickness whereas some dont have any. I guess it lasts for three to five months but in some women it might last more.
Another thing to consider is exactly in which month r u going abroad? If its sometime soon, then maybe u can move first and then plan for a baby as it will be very tiring for u to move while pregnant. But if its not this year or something like that, then u can have a baby first.
Yes, age is the most important factor. And u have said u want to try from april, also be prepared that pregancy might not happen in the first instance. I mean it might take few months for u to be pregnant. Its not exactly like movies where u have unprotected sex once and immediately get pregnant. My story is also bit like yours. I am in US and am going to be 28 very soon. Thats (age) the only reason why I thought of having a baby now otherwise I would have waited few more yrs. We have been trying since about 5 months but I have not yet become pregnant which is very frustrating. I had thought I will become pregnant instantly and accordingly we had tried but with no luck yet. So u have to take all these things into consideration and then make a right decision.
