Hi , I am new to this board and last week I had my blood sugar taken. The fasting came to 81 and after drinking the sweet drink it was 168. Does it mean I have GD already. The dietician has told me to stay away from carbs. Also a repeat blood sugar next week. Has anybody had a similiar experience. pinki replied. HI,

You know what I also had exact same reading 168 after 1 hr test. They asked me for 3 day diet and go to 3 hr glucose test.
I hv a sweet tooth, i was kinda know that may be i will have GD :(
Now I am scared of this GD thing, pissed off too.
I hope it wud get controlled by diet.

I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my first. I also had GD high of 177 in my first test. i went for 3 hour test and it came out normal.even if it doesn't come out normal don't worry like Supriya posted, you will be just on a diet and will have to keep your sugar level in control.
Suggestion: before 3 hour test i cut down on sugar and carb and fast 12 hours before the test.

Hai! there is nothing to worry.by this you cannot definetly say that you have GD and it is not necessay,that if your 1st test is positive,your second one should be positive also.after the sweetdrink the sugar level has to be below 140.so i thing the next one will be 3 hr test.
