Due Date Club December 2006:Question on Sleeping during the day..
2006-07-02
Name: Naina

Hi all..

Does sleeping in the day have any negative effect on the baby???

I have heard people saying that its not good for pregnant ladies to sleep during the day. Also in an Ayurvedic site i read that pregnant ladies who sleep too much will give birth to dull sleepy baby's :(...
But I find myself sleeping for 3-4 hours on most of the days, if not more :(. I simply find it difficult to keep myself awake when i feel sleepy.
One more Q friends.
We plan to have our baby in Kerala, India. Heard of any hospital that allows hubby in the labour room in Kerala; Trivandrum to be specific?

Rgds,
Take care & Bubbye

Hi ...
Great to hear from you ..

how have you been , my EDD is also Dec2 , but need to see what happens to it after my u/s scheduled on 07/17 :)

As soni had said, this low lyin gplacenta seems to be common at this point, so guess no need to worry about it ....

And sleeping .... wish i could do that everyday afternoon :( ... but i agree with rest of the gang , i think sleeping is good for your body as it is really working overtime :) ....

And no idea abt hospitals in Kerala , sorry ..

anyway , take care and do not hibernate so much , keep in contact ..:)
-P

Hello Naina,

There's no problem in sleeping during the day. Pregnant women should get enough rest so that all the energy is dedicated towards baby growth. I think we might not have enough sleep after baby is born :). So better enjoy sleep now itself!!

Regards,
blessed_mom
