Due Date Club December 2006:Hi....

Hi everybody,

Great to know that all of u r doing great.
Sorry i was hibernating for quite some time now. :)..My last visit was on 17th June. Everythings fine with the baby and my Dr said the due date is Dec 2 as per the u/s then; a day less than what was said in my previous visits:).

But my placenta was found to be lying low and was adviced to avoid any strenuous work. Except standing at a stretch for 2-3 hours for preparing food and washing the dishes, i hardly do anything else that cud put strain on my body. Anybody else having this problem? Suggestions???

My Hb count also came down from last month. Now it reads 10.5gms. Iam on Iron tabs since my 3rd month, still its coming down. Started gulping down all those greens and iron rich stuffs. I never liked spinach and other such greens in my life. And now I find it very difficult to have them. Mostly i eat palak roti for the dinner. That way its easier.
Thats all friends. My next visit is on July 15th.

Cheers,
Naina

in some pregnancies at 18-20 weeks, the placenta is situated low in the uterus either close to, or covering the cervix . As pregnancy progresses however, the lower part of the uterus grows such that the placenta eventually becomes clear of the cervix. In fact, in 95% of cases the placenta will be clear of the birth canal by 37 weeks of pregnancy.
Therefore if you are informed at your 18-20 week scan that the placenta is low, do not be alarmed, you can rest. however as i remember they repeat ultrasund at around 26-34 weeks of pregnancy to determine if the placenta has moved away from the cervix. I know this since my very close friend had that and i asked too many ? pertaning to my doc. alos to be prepared of anything you know .Since every thing is fine i think you will be o.k but take care and eat good and rest as advice .keep 2/3 pillow under your leg while sleeping. take care feel better

Hi Soni,

Thank u so much for the prompt reply to both my postings. They really did help to relieve a lot of tension especially regd'g sleeping in pregnancy. And that the low lying placenta was found in my 16th week u/s i think i have a very good chance & time to have it travel up to its position:)..
Thank u once again my friend.
Take care & Bye
