Hi Krishika

I think the experts' verdict is that seven month olds need upto 14 hrs in a 24 hr cycle.
I have a ten month old baby girl who generally sleeps less than what the books/experts/research indicates for her age. My little girl was averaging only about eight to nine hrs when she was 7 months. When I checked with the paed, I was told not to worry as some babies get by on 6 - 10 hrs and some need their 12-15 hrs.
Don't stress as each baby is unique. The main thing is - is baby happy, healthy and has reasonable periods of alertness. You cannot make a baby sleep if they do not wish to. Refer to ask dr sears dot com and baby centre dot co dot uk - both excellent websites.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Samika

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
