Hi, Does any one know gestational diabetes. I’m currently suffering from it and my doctor recommended me to go for endocrinology. After that, now I’m on insulin.
I’m looking for some more information for all of you.
Thanks
Rupali

Hi Rupali,

Even I am suffering from gestational diabetes.
Its a condition like ordinary diabetes...the only difference is that thankfully it goes off when you are over with the delivery
yes definitly you need to have a strict diet control & do go for regular walks for 30 mins everyday..
It sure helps
Dont take any direct sugar in anything ..it sure is harmfull
Diabetes do gives complication in pregnancy so you have to be carefull...i am not trying to scare you but the complications can be like congenital deformity , miscarriage , etc....but only if you dont control it

Another thing probably you will have your delivery by 38th week as the docs dont wait full term & then the baby size is also bigger than normal so the normal delivey is difficult.

Hi Niki,
I did go thru’ the test which tells average of last three months of glucose and it was normal (this test was done in very early stage, so doc concluded, it is GD). Currently I’m in USA.
I wish this time your glucose result should turns out to be negative, do keep faith in God.
Let me know when you get your test result, next month.
Thanks for your reply. Keep in touch.
Bye

Hi All,
Thanks for reply.
Niki, when did you start taking insulin, my doctor suggested to go for insulin at 12th weeks. Now I’m taking 9 units before breakfast, 10 before lunch and 5 before dinner (FYI.. using Humalog insulin).
All the time readings looks good (except few) but strange part is some time it goes very low, I did talk to doc and he says there are several factors which can bring down sugar level low and it’s very rare so I should eat some thing immediately when ever starts feeling it. The day it goes low I feel very tiered for all the day and headache also.
How are you now? Do you need any special cure after birth also? When did you stop taking you insulin after birth?
Please suggest if I have missed any important point.

Bye

took insulin starting 28 weeeks as GD was detected at 23 weeks. As soon as i delivered my baby i has no diabities & none of the care was taken. I was monitored regularly & it was all normall. But in ur case i feel its not gestational only! Have u checked ur result of one blood test (i dont remember the name) along with glucose.....It tell u whether u had diabities for last 3/4 months. If that is positive, there r more cares to be taken. Even after birth insulin depends upon the results after birth so there is no point thinking about it. U just take care & pray that ur this baby comes healthily. Also where r u right now? I think u shud eat lot of protien rich food. like channa, Moong, low fat cheese, etc. Also lot of calcium.it will make ur baby's built up strong. U know this time so far i dont know what will happen as my blood test is next month & that will decide what all ive to go thru....... But i do feel tired etc..... lets see. Anyways, u take care 7 i m sure ur doc will take most care of u & ur baby & also u stay alert. if u feel any doubts just calll him.... What else can we do? rest is all in God's hand........

Hey i had it in my previous pregnancy & i was on insulin. but also keep ur self active if possible & eat a llot of protien rich foods. There is nothing much we can do to stop it but only try & controll...... in my case the doc didnt want me to carry my babe after 39 weeks & so i was induced. i didnt progress more than 8 cms & so i had a c- section. But ofcourse depends on each doc's view. i was uder observation of fetal specialists after 34 weeks & i had to go 2 times a week for NST tests too. As the doc's say that many insulin dependent moms have a chance of geting a still birth so they wanted me also to be very consious. The day i didnt feel movement in the last month i was suppose to go to doc.......

But at the end of all the pains, i have a very cute, sweet Loving babe, KHUSHI & i think all i ve been thru is worth it.

I am sure, u will go thru everything happily if u keep in ur mind my doc's words.\"; Whatever u r going thru is for for ur baby & its good health\";.

Take care.
