Hi girls,

Hope you and your little angel are doing fine.I just want to know whether you have started to give solid foods to the baby.If yes when did you start?.what are you giving?.Did your baby have any problem after taking it?.If not when are u planning to start?.Iam planning to give quarter biscuit from tomorrow.but very confused of what brand of biscuit to give.please help me out.my in laws asked me to give parle-g is it ok?.do u recommend any special biscuit?.also can we give juice to the baby now?.My daughter is 14 weeks old today.I think i have posted too many questions.Sorry iam alone here taking care of my baby.So i have so many questions.Please clear my doubts.Thanks

No biscuits rite now. I gave rice cereal 1 spoon mixed with milk, when they turned 4 mos. That filled them up a lot and they skipped a bottle or two also. But they looked chubby and gained weight(from eyeball look itself I can tell). Since their intake of milk/formula reduced, I thot its ok I can wait till they r 5/6 months.
No hurry for solids, Milk/formula is still the prime nutrition source for them at this age or till 6 months also.
MY frends kids at 5 months have cereal once and then mashed fruit/veg(Gerber) and also lots of milk. If ur baby can handle it its ok.... otherwise introduce it slowly.

Hope u r doing fine..we asked our doc about starting solid, she adviced us to wait till next visit..i.e till end of 4 months..all babies can start can diff times..depends on their appetite and neck has to be steady first. She said u do get an indication baby needs more when they drink too much of milk too or need more.
DOn't think biscuits is a good idea..mainly since u r alone and if a piece could choke them since they have no teeth yet. even if u start would think u start with the mashed fruits that u get in the store, best would be istead of starting with fruits that are sweet, start with rice/oatmeal cereal (u get in the store)..india ragi is supposed to be good for babies, what ever u do see that it is mashed pureed form and not chunks of it..initally they will just take a spoon or two , test if they are ok with it, don't get stomach upsets/allergies etc..so u have to start very slowly. I would say best thing to do is talk to ur doctor, they know when its best to start or ur family home to someone who is experienced in baby care..or recently had a baby.
Biscuits def. no now...cereals / dal water/ mashed fruits maybe still try one item for a month..don't try different food items at one time, introduce each item very slowly..
