Hi Archiee,

Thanks for your soothing words and information on Ectopic pregnancy in Aug board.
Archie I am back to home from hospital. As you suggested me to try again within 2-3 cycles.
I have made my mind to go for it again with your encouragement.
Archie I have a question. I am 29 yr old. My height is 5.4 and weight is 81kg.
What bothering me and my hubby is whether my weight creates problem for my pregnancy?
I am continueing taking folic acid.

Roopa

Dear Roopa,
I will certainly recommend shedding of some weight! It may delay conception and also will make you very uncomfortable later in second and third trimester.
I deally you can reduce 15kg or more if possible. I don't want you to go on starving to reduce weight. Eat balanced meal, on time and do some exercise.

I am very happy to note that you chose to try.

I think besides weight nothing should prevent. Remember the cycle that leads to ovulation fromt he side of intact fallopian tube is going to help you conceive.

Hello Roopa,

I am sorry to hear about your loss...I just want to let you know that I have friends who are so much overweight still they have been able to conceive...infact my own sister is overweight still she has a daughter and a son...and she conceived in couple of months of trying...she sometimes says that overweight people conceive early as they have all the necessary nutrients in their body and they are fertile...please donot think that weight is a prob...my friend conceived within a month of marriage, she is overweight by all standards....so dont worry, may god bless you.

Pooja

Hi Roopa,
I am sooooooooooo sorry for you loss. Don't worry even with one tube it is possible to get pregnant. Also these days science has advanced soo much that you can try IVF or something else if needed. It's expensive but there are options if you don't want to wait too long.
But first of all please please change your doctor if possible. How irresponsible of her. How can they do this . Not only was your baby's life at risk but so was yours !
Take complete rest for a month or two . Lots of nutrition and recoop before you try to TTC again.
At least you know your ovaries function fine and can get you pregnant.

Take care,
Simba

It is very natural to blame your weight for the loss. I also would like to advice - do not listen to all the suggestions given by friends and family. Yes, an ideal weight is advised but I am your height and weighed EXACTLY your weight when I had my daughter. There was nothing wrong with my pregnancy. I did not have any complications. Of course I am not saying that you should remain at that weight. If you can do LIGHT exercise, then fine. Otherwise, guilt can work in opposite way and make you gain more.

My sis-in-law is very skinny and she had an ectopic.

We are there for you, TA

hello roopa!
i read abt ur msg on the aug board. felt really sorry and sad for all the pain...

although i am not archie, i wud like to suggest u something..
i read in ur msg(aug board) that u dont want to think abt getting pregnant now..
dear, u r feeling this way because of this incident. i can understand how difficult it must be to go through another cycle of ttc immediately after this. i would suggest u to take a break for 3-4 mnths but continue taking folic acid. give urself time to recover, dont suppress ur pain. u will feel much better. meanwhile, u could do simple exercises (walking, meditation etc) and u could try losing some weight(since u r concerned). then start afresh after 3-4 cycles. this is just my suggestion...maybe archie could guide u with any medical issues involved. :)

be strong..take care.
we r with u..:)
