Hi All !

Could someone please give me some breakfast ideas?

My 11-month daughter eats daal, rice & roti for lunch n dinner – and she loves it.

But I don’t understand what should I give her for breakfast. She doesn’t eat rice/ multi grain cereal at all. I tried whole grain pan cake; she ate little bit, but doesn’t seem excited about it.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,
Suchie

Wow .....Soooo many ideas ......thanks a lot girls !!!

Manju, what is chuda?

Hetal, even my DD is not a morning eater, but I thought of starting a breakfast for her coz breakfast is supposed to be the most imp meal of the day. Secondly she goes to daycare, so I personally would feel more relaxed if she eats something in the morning in front of me ...... Hope she cooperates ...... I would update you if she starts eating her breakfast properly.

Aata dosa seems really good, I guess it would be like paratha ..... softer one. I would definitely try that and I am very sure my DD is going to like it coz she is (we all) roti/paratha eater.

I never tried graduate cereal - rather did not notice anything like that in store – my bad :-(

I think I have good number of options now, will plan for 7 day breakfast menu. :-)

Thanks to all of you,
Suchie.

hi, these days my baby eats most of the times what we eat from our plates and in mornings, but often skips the breakfast replacing with milk.
whole grain pancakes is a great source of iron,,,if your baby doesnt like it, offer it soaked or with his fav fruit or vegie..
otherthan that, whole grain bread roasted on pan with some ghee or sometimes butter,,i offer with her fav fruits, and its an easy meal.also apply cream cheese on bread or offer with that, its a nice taste..sometimes my baby likes that.
also, graduate toddler cereal are great,,she enjoys them like anything and at any time of day....the taste is really good.on weekends she has mix vege upma or carrot kheer.
she also has boiled rolled oats with fruits,,boil the rolled oats, and add the fruits, its a great morning food.
sometimes she takes poha, whole grain biscuits - bagels - soft roasted tortilla with sour creme, dosa with plain corainder chutney(nothing except salt) or watever we eat.
thats all i have right now,,my baby is not much a morning eater so i havent tried much things..these are working so far good for her.
manju great ideas, will try those...but what does chuda, paitha, papitha mean...

I have reframed the sentance check whether it is more clear...

Idly

atta ka dosa or rice powder dosa

Mix a cup of wheat flour or rice flour with 2 to 3 cups of water. Add salt. Thoroughly mix the batter without any lumps. The consistency of batter must be like thick buttermilk, not too watery or not too tight..
Add coriander leaves or kari leaves by cutting very small ,
Add jeera by frying in little bit ghee
U can also add carrot, cucumber, beetroot in this mix by grating it

And then make dosa while making dosa don’t expect to be very crispy make it small so that it does nt breaks.

U can try even bread+ kela

Poha+kela+milk
Poha+dahi+kela
Papitha+dahi+ Poha
Papitha +milk+ Poha

U have to soak chuda in water for 10 mins then wash and mash with kela and add curd or milk and little bit sugar

sooji ka upma
sevai ka upma
Dalia (brokenn wheat)ka upma
Poha upma
In all upma u can add vegtables what all she likes

Red or white Rice powder puttu, atta puttu,
Roast the powder till it becomes golden brown in color.
Strain the rice powder and mix it with water and salt.the consistencey should be after u mix it should be like a soft suji.
Fill the stuff in idli plates and boil as u boil idli.
Steam this stuff for 10 mins

U can add banana or any soup or any mixed vegetables or any mashed fruits which ever baby likes and serve.

Sometimes i add jeera or mustard or dania patta or kadi patta

U can add jaggery in dosa mix and make sweetpancakes

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
