Waiting to try:please advice..

Hi all,
I am 28 yrs old and married for 2 years.my husband in 30 now.
we stay in UK and my hubby is in software so that deals with loads of mental stress and uncertainities abt where to settle down .. we keep moving from here and there. for the past 2years we moved from london to yorkshire and so on.. i am also working for a international bank and wont say its a stressful job but tiring for sure at times. but still we have started planning for a baby.. we r not using any protection for abt 7-8 months but never planned anything and with both of us working having sex was always a weekend thing so chances of conceiving was very less then.have started planning very recently.we have been trying for the past 2-3 months . we both love kids and want to have our own child. but havent been of any luck so far. when we speak with friends they tell us we sud immediately consult a doc as 3 months is long time and there mite be some problem with us. the general believe is u conceive the very first month or atleast the next month for sure and if u dont then there is some problem .thats quite scary actually.. we went to our local GP as well and she after listening to us said its too early to even do any testing on both of us.. we dont have any major health issues infact not any minor as well. we both r healthy and hearty so we need to wait for another 6-7 months before going back to her n to do any fertility test.
so am actually confused sud i wait or sud i consult another doc by next month and get myself and my hubby tested. i know am 28 and its high time i sud have a baby. talking with friends r making me more confused and u keep on getting so many suggestions and do this do that stuff and talking with parents means getting things complicated rite from the beginning coz they will also start worrying..
can u please suggest me something as what to do?? am actually getting a bit nervous and puzzled plus a bit depressed as every time i am expecting and its not happening

one more thing i forgot to mention is my periods were delayed by 7 days on dec. so i went for a pregnancy test but suddenly my periods started after 7 days the nurse told me that maybe i have conceived but it was not implanted. so i dont know wht to do. is it a cause for any panic? sud i do a through check up by a gaeny?i am goin to india next month for a month's hol

thanks in advance.. pls reply as soon as possible

Hi,
First of all please do not consult with freinds about this matter. They will unnecessarily put pressure on you. I have gone through this too. We've been married for 5.5 years and have been TTC only for 8 months now. We just weren't ready for a kid then. But I have freinds who have been telling me to go the doctor for the last 2 years now. However in my case I got pregnant twice in those 8 months but miscarried .... so had to go to the doctor to get tested for almost everything under the sun.
Glad I did and now I am under some medication for recurent pregnancy loss.

But most doctors at least want to wait a year before running any tests. The rule of thumb is if a couple has not concieved after 1 year of unprotected sex, they are sent for additional infertility tests. So 2 months is nothing.... Relax. As others mentioned get a OPK and use BBT. It is very useful to pinpoint your fertile days. I use it every month and it helps. You won't beleive that sometimes I ovualte much later than I thought I would.

So take care of yourself. Moderate exercise is also needed. Eat well and enjoy your time with your hubby.

It is quite possible that the reason your period was delayed in december was due to concern or worry about conceiving. I know a great many women who have found that when they're trying to conceive their period comes late occasionally and their docs put it down to stress related to their desire to fall pregnant. I think your doctor is right when they say it is only early days and that there isn't a need to test but I do understand your anxiety... It would be nice to rule out any complications now rather than later. What sort of protection are you using? Depending on what you used it may have an effect, fertility can be delayed for a while if you've used the contraceptive pill or some other treatment like that. A friend of my SIL used a gadget that you put some saliva on to tell you when you're ovulating as she had been on the pill and it took her some 8 months before it showed she was fertile. Even then it took a few months to conceive. I do hope that you'll be pregnant soon... Relax and just go with the flow and hopefully before long you'll be holding a precious baby of your own
