All you smart ladies out there..
I livre in a joint family with my husband , daughte, MIL,FIL and SIL. Like most of us, I too have all other problems of mental and physical torture from husband. A monster-in-law in the form of MIL. I dont want to elaborate on that now.
My daughter is nearing 1.5 yrs now, and she is getting exposed to all dirty 'K' serials on star plus etc during the evening being viewed by my MIL,SIL and FIL. Also my husband is interested in these serials. On other times when my husband is at home (most afternoons he is) she is exposed to pathetic old hindi or our regional movies. I do not want to expose her to all this shit at this age when she is learning all new things from us. The problem is am working and not around all the time at home. Also i cannot make my husband understand about the problem( as per him its not of any concern, bascially anything I say is not of a big concern for him as long as it is not told by his mom). how do I make him understand about this issue in a smart way so that he can understand and not get wild on me for this. I am seeing that my daughter is getting intersted into those K serials and stuff. Urgently need smart rreplies from all you smart ladies to cope with this. Shailly replied. Hi,
since i also have an 8 months daughter and iam also interested in bringing up some good activities..what i can suggest u is that when u get nack home just ask ur daughter abt the daily routine and tell her in some from of a story that the things which are shown on TV is just for entertainment and is not real..try to watch cartoons (if she is intereted in TV)..also take the child fully in ur custody during ur holidays..take her out..sing with her,dance with her..talk to her..say peoms together and set a routine for ur daughter when u are around...probably u can give her some homework like painting or reading or learning some poem and can take update on that...try to talk to her on phone during day time as much as possible just to know that how she is doing..I doit in my case and plan for coming days hence i think can be of help to u..also when she is at the age of going to play school put her in day boarding so that she can interact with her peers as much as possible..I hope it will give u some gud idea!! kiran replied. Rightly put across if the idiot box is not utilised properly it will damage ur childs future. When back home u can sit with ur daughter for painting and encouraging her in craft activities. Then slowly tell her to do something for herself in the afternoons. Involve ur husband in it also. During week ends take her to a nearby park - may be later she may force ur inlaws or husband to take her there.
