Good to see some action in our boards like before! I got a job as an Instructor in a university. It is a term position for 1 year. I want to know your opinions. I want to know how you Moms are doing if your child is going to daycare. Komal and Sush, I can think of the two of you only in U.S who could be doing that. If so, have Megs and Tia adjusted well to that. Are they falling sick a lot? If so, how were they before that. I am so scared when I hear that children fall sick because of daycare. I really don\";t have an option. Would like to know how you are handling it when they fall sick. Who takes care of them in the middle of the day when you have to go get them.
Sush, I don\";t have the answer for vomit. I give Diya her supplements everyday because she is a poor eater too. I give it along with her milk though which doesn\";t help because of low iron absorption. Toddlers are supposed to be picky eaters because they do not have to grow much in the second year. So, I try not to stress on that. Tantrums, I am with you guys. Diya wants it her way only now. If she cries, I try to distract her with other toys or words because she loves to talk or take her to a different room. Diaper changes are the biggest challenge which we have. I am ye tto find a solution to it.
Vani, I sing some songs like wheels on the bus when I brush her teeth. She is interested in the song while I quickly brush. I have to be reallty quick though. I do not even try with my fingers because she has 16 teeth.

About day care:

Well when I started out ,Tia was only 6months..I kept her w/my neighbour-Paki Aunty(yes Pakistani !)..but she was my
mom's age and knew Tia from birth..also since my timings wre erratic..I was making my own schedule ,it was best at that time.
Later I put her in a day care for 2 months..but after she developed a bad case of stomach flu(she cried bad initially but was ok later).I kept an old Gujju lady as a baby sitter.She was a gem of a alady who would come to our house at 6 am ! and leave when I used to return(4:30-5pm)..she would also make chappatis' and cut veggies ..I was paying the same for daycare($4/hr.)She would also sometimes make great farsaan(snack items) for us whenever she felt like !But right now her daughter in law is going back to work so she is babysitting her g'son..I just enrolled Tia in a daycare cum preschool..and of course she screamed her lungs out,but right now in the summer I am going to be working for 3 days /week I feel she should cope..so that in Sept. when I join in full time she would be all adjusted..I will pray..I do want it to work this time..
If she is sick,then depending on her illness,my husband would have to initially try to work from home otherwise I'll sit at home or if we feel she is ok sick,then maybe leave her w/Manjula aunty(the Gujju babysitter) or my neighbor..haven't still thought about it tho'.

BTW which vit supplements are you giving and are they reccommended or are you giving it by your own self ?
