Hi Shelly,
9 month leave sounds so good â€¦well I do have very hectic schedule managing deadlines in office , house hold chores and above all a small naughty kid who keeps me on toes all the time . I will come to office as long as my body permits or as advised by the doctor. I took 6 Â½ months leave after delivery of my first baby and somehow managed to kept him on exclusive breast feed for initial 6 months.
Even me and hubby we both are so much crazy about a girl but after having my son our thinking changed. We have realized that bringing up boys is also so much fun and entirely different from girls. My son is a hyper active child but a very fussy eater.

Hi thr!!!!

I can understand it must be very hard for you specially with the kid. Boys are as much fun to look after, I am sure. I am the eldest of my siblings and I feel gud about it. So wanted a girl first. Would like to have a boy in the family as much as I wanted a girl (hope my husband doesnt read this... He gets panicy when I talk about the second kid :D).

I am sure you are doing well and will have a beautiful and healthy baby which is all we want. So all the best to you and lots of love to the Elder Brother...

Hi Shelly,
This is great yaar that you would get 6 months maternity leave as you can manage to keep baby on exclusive breastfeed for that period. Well basically I am an engineer and working in a PSU in Design deptt. We get 4 Â½ months ML only as per Govt norms. This is going to be my second baby EDD 12th of Jan and will be a surprise as sex determination is banned in India.
Are you still working or on leave , just wanted to know.

Hello

Yes its great. Infact just for information, UK govt is making it 9 months from April '07. Thou we r only paid a minimal amount during this period and not the complete salary.

I am still working but really facing a not so good time as I do not have any domestic help except for my husband. So I have decided to work till 24th Nov and then take leave. What r your plans?

I really wanted to keep the surprise till the babyz born but I had to take the test called Amniocentesis which tells the complete Karyotype(complete chromosomal structure) and thus sex of the baby as well. Since I always wished for a baby girl I m so happy and feel fortunate.

Thanks for all the valuable information. My EDD is 8th Jan. I will be back probably in April next year, not very sure thou. Here we get 6 months maternity leave which is quite cool.

This is my first baby(girl :)) and I am really concerned about the life ahead. I work in IT. Thou I am quite career savvy but nvr want to put my kid on second priority. I hope things go fine afterwards too.

Well I do stay in NOIDA and working too and I have 20 months old kid . There are some real good creches/playschools in NOIDA. I have enrolled my son in day boarding creche called Mother's pride (915am to 615pm) which I heard is very safe , clean and good for kids but a bit expensive (approx Rs. 6000 per month).
1.Mother's Pride in sector 19 they provide food, transportation all
2.Little Kangaroo in Sector 34
3.Bubbles in Sector 62
4.Rosewook or rockwood something like that
5. Bachpan in sector 82
6.Little pearl in sector 24/29
7.Little scholars in sector 19
Earlier I used to bring my kid with me as we have creche facility in office itself .But now a days my in laws are staying with me and they take care of my son when i am in office.
Anyway when you be back and what is your EDD.

Hi dears!!!

I m from noida but currently in London. I concieved here and will have my baby here only.
Question for Maya is how r u planning to deal with your job once u have the baby. are there good crutches around in Noida.... I am quite worried about it as to how to take care of both, the baby and job if family is not around to look after the baby. Please let me know wht you ppl have planned.
