hi,

today virej came from school with a red mark on his head & was sobbing badly. i was so shooked/ upset (dunno what to say) i went up to the teacher & asked her what happen?? she said it happens... children hit each other & sometimes they fight for the same toy... i was feeling so helpless as virej cannot talk properly as to whats happening with. he just kept on crying till we were home.
when i asked him at home he said a boy hit him with a ball, i dont know how true it is coz these r the only words he speaks.

i dont know whether my decision of putting him in play school at this age is right or not.

no doubt the teachers were shooked as to how this happened & they assured me that they will take care, but i guess such things may happen coz he is the youngest & cant speak much.
i m feeling very sad today...

It is bad to hear Virej is hurt. How is he doing now? Does he still remember it and cry?

I think you have to pick a class where kids all are of same age. If there are bigger kids they are more powerful and active than our tiny toddlers. Also you have to see there r enough teachers for all kids. Say like 1 teacher for 5 kids. This way he will hv similar aged kids and in a small group which is safe and still can hv fun.

If you don't get same age group for him, you can accompany him for some other class for couple of hrs or just wait for some more time. These accidents can be very bad too with bigger kids around, so better be careful than feel sorry.

I hope Virej is back to normal now.

So Sorry to hear that lil' Virej got hurt. I can understand how worried & helpless u must be feeling, we parents always want our kids to be fine & problem-free. On top of it he's so small that he can't even tell u what h'd exactly....poor baby must have got scared!
I don't understand how can the teachers of such small kids be so careless as to not be near them when they are playing.Although its a personal decision but i would suggest that you look for other classes where you can accompany virej for 1-2 hours rather than a pre-school. Maybe he c'd start the preschool at 2 yrs & 4-5 months or so.....plus if he goes to some play classes with you he'll be able to adjust better & be more relaxed & confident & the you'll feel more secure too. We have many such classes here in the U.S. & i'm sure big cities like Mbai & Delhi w'd have something similar if you just look around. A lot of my fnds say that we don't want to send our kids anywhere alone till the time they can't communicate & tell us if they were treated badly & now i agree with them too. I take Tanya twice a week to toddler gym & music & swim lessons, but am with her for that 1 hour so i feel pretty ok.

Anyways, these things keep happening every now & then & is a part of the growing up process, but when they happen in the start we parents get sooo worried. Take it easy & cheer up.
