Waiting to try:till when is it ok to wait

Hi,
I turned 27 in sept, 2002 and have been married for the past 20 months. My husband will turn 28 in Oct'2002. Both I and my husband are professionally qualified and working full-time in MNCs. We do not want to have a baby for another two years to fulfil our career goals but all elders say that we should have a baby now itself due to my age. I would like to know what kind of medical problems, if any, can be there if we plan the first pregnancy two years from now( I will be 29 then). We want to make an informed decision. Your answer will be of great help.
Thanks for any answers

Hi,
When to have a baby is one's own decision. U have to be physically and mentally prepared. But from the medical point of view, yes, its true that a woman should have atleast one baby before she turns 30. Its not that after 30 one cannot have babies, but the procedure takes a long time. Its takes times to conceive. Of course, every woman is different. So I'm not saying that each and every woman above 30 will take time to conceive, only in general the percentage is more. Since u both r working, I assume financially u both r doing good. So its good to go ahead and plan a baby. For the best advice, ask ur gynac.

I guess it's the Indian thing to worry. I got pregnant after I became 30 and I'm due after I turn 31. Have had no complications until now and didnt have too much trouble conceiving.

Hope this helps!!!

Hi answer, thanks for replying.
Its just that I'm scared about one thing. What if when we are actually trying after two years, and I fail to concieve?? At that time everybody will say that you did not listen to us. I guess complications or no complications depend from person to person. Maybe I should see a gynae for consultation. Thanks anyway.

Hey, Hope you are doing well. Well don't Worry. Somethings are unplanned. You don't need to worry about it. When there will be right time for it, You will conceive. there is no fixed right time. Right time begins when we decide to do something. You just have to make your mind for it. And prepare yourself for it. Every time is right time. Don't take so much stress.
