I gave cereal to 6 month old baby boy. He seems to like it. How much qty should i give him(how many ounces)? Can i give him daily dal pani(since its gas)? Can i store dal pani in fridge? How many days can i use the stored dal pani?
What else can i give a 6 month old kid? In gerber veg he likes only sqush & Sweet potato & fruits he likes only apple sause. Is it ok to give him that alone?
What should be the feeding schedule for a 6 month baby?
My feeding schedule :
9:00 to 10:00 am Veg
3:00 to 4:00 pm fruits
8:00 to 9:00 pm cereal (3 tbsp)
In between formula & BM ( he doesn't have a proper schedule, he drinks whenever he likes)
Does this seems to be good for a 6 month baby.
Please help me..
thanks in advance,
MR

In the schedule for 6month old, you mentioned about meat. how do i replace that. if i dont give that, my baby growth will be slow or affected anyway?
what else i can give to my 7 month old so that he gets all nutrients of meat as well.

Hetal replied. here a schedule for 6 month old for whole day :
--Breast milk: 3–5 feedings, or on demand OR Iron-fortified formula: 3–5 feedings of 6–8 ounces each.18oz-35oz depending on baby apetite.
–-6 months Infant cereal: 4–8 tablespoons, mixed cereal can be started.at 6 months, most babies eat upto 3-4tblsp of cereal only.
--Infant juice: 2–4 ounces (1/4 to 1/2 cup, from cup only)-- this is for fruits which you have already introduced.add water acc to baby likings. To protect teeth & start gum care and begin weaning, always offer juice from a cup or try spoon.
--Six months Meat: 1–2 tablespoons
Fruits/vegetables: 2–4 tablespoons, twice daily.
Now about dal pani, since toovar daal is gassy & heavy, try with whole moong pani ! its completely safe and easiest to digest. after whole moong pani, start with moong dal pani, and then finally toovar dal pani. the proportion slowly you can increase to 1:1 of dal and pani depending on your baby likings.you can store dal pani in air tight container on the top shelf of your refrigerator upto 3 days, no problem.make sure if the settings in your fridge is 9, keep the temperature upto 4.5...also rather than storing in the fridge, freezing is better and it locks all the nutrients.if the vegies or fruits contains sugar, often in fridge, the sugar gets seperated from the content. however that happens after 4--5-6 days depending on your fridge temperature.for freezing, let the dal pani cool completely, pour it in ice cube tray, and cover it with press n seal feezing wrap or any good anti freeze wrap, and let it freeze. once freeze, transfer the cubes to double zipper ziplock antifreeze bags. write the date to use by max 2 month ! as such it stays for 6 months, but for babies we dont want to store longer ! i used to prepare weekly & store it.generally standard icecube tray has 1 icecube measuring content to 1 oz, so for each oz of dal pani you use 1 icecube. you know what you are giving.you can prepare baby food likewise, boil, let it cool, make pulp, seive it thru mesh or cheese cloth to further refine it. and store it.my baby never liked gerber except banana & mixed berries.so i did all this.
Now about vegies. if your baby likes only certain vegies only, try introducing other vegies with his fav vegies and offer him,,its better to introduce other vegies too. also do same with other fruits. make it a point to introduce atleast 5 vegies & 5 fruits of different colour by the end of 8-9 months, however go by introducing 1 vegie or fruit and observe baby for 3-4 days or 1 week..so that baby is able to get complete nutrients.
tasty combination ideas you will get from gerber dot com.they also have some readymade sample feeding plans available for specific age, how much to give and wat time nd in what routine.they call it start healthy plan !
about feeding schedule, some babies dont follow, its ok, if they dont..jst make sure they drink or eat well.plus minus 1-2oz is ok.
if you want, you can schedule him for food, nice tips on gerber dot com.
hope this helps,
good luck.

Hetal

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
