Due Date Club October 2003:My update

Hi friends

I am doing fine & my baby Nitya is also doing good. She keeps me so busy with her feeding, burp & diaper change. It is so good to see her growing & getting alert day by day. From last few days I have started taking her to bathroom for potty once a day, sometimes i try to do that twice. After that I leave her without diaper for some time. I feel so bad putting her diaper all the time on her soft skin. Her skin has become dry around that area, & few rashes where the diaper elastic touches her bottom. I always use the diaper rash cream. But i believe i need to keep her more open from that area.
How are you all doing with your babies. I keep reading about you but don't get much time to write. Nitya wakes up around 10:30PM and goes to sleep around 1:30 AM in the night. That's her longest time of awakening during whole day, otherwise she doesn't stay awake for more than 1& 1/2 hrs. She gets very cranky & fussy when i try to wake her up when she is sleepy. My husband sometimes goes to another room to sleep when she doesn't sleep till so late :-(. How are your husbands handliing it? Intially she was getting colicky also sometimes, for that my doc told me to stop spicy food. Since then I am not using chillies & other spices in my food. And this has really worked for my baby.
I have read in your messages about red grains on baby's skin in your messages. My baby also has that, it keeps coming & going. My doc gave me Elidel ointment. It works good, but the redness still comes again. Hopefully it'll go off by time.

That's was all from my side.
Manisha

hi girls,

Hope every one is enjoying with their little bundle.Iam also enjoying with my daughter sasmeta. She is doing fine and iam getting better now.But still tired due to the house shifting work.My MIL left to india when the baby was 1 month old.SO i take care of her all alone.I enjoy taking care of her by myself. She turned 2 months yesterday. Her head is almost standing and we find it easy to hold her.She sleeps in the morning and wakes up every hr to drink milk.she will play with me for 1 or 2 hrs then again drink milk and goto sleep. In the night she goes to sleep at 10:30 and wakes up arround 1 and she goes to sleep immediately after she drinks milk.she will again wake up arround 5 to drink milk and then goes to sleep.she sleeps very well in the night.I don't change her diaper in the night time.I feel lazy(and tired due to all day work) to do it.I feel that i don't take care of my baby as you girls take care of your baby.I don't know why i have this feeling.
My hubby has joined a new office. So he leaves at 8am and comes home at 9 or 10pm.So i get tired by looking after the baby whole day.sometimes i also scold her if she gives trouble.i know that its not her fault.I also find it difficult to cook.she always wants me to be with her. Some how iam managing her and the house work.Planning to goto india after 3 months and get rest.we also applied for the passport and we received it yesterday.I feel very hungry nowadays and i eat the whole day.i eat only junk food and nothing healthy.so she passes gas a lot.i am ashamed that iam not sacrificing anything for my baby(what a mommy iam :-(.I want to avoid all these junk foods but iam not able to.ok girls she is crying.catch u girls later.
bye
with love from
kals

Hi Manisha,

It was good to read your update. The participation on this board has really tapered off, but if we all update each other occasionally, we can compare notes.
My son is doing well, he completed two months this week and he has his immunization shots tomorrow. I guess my husband and I will cry more than he will when he gets the shots. His eating patterns are not entirely consistent. At times he will refuse to take even an ounce, and at times he will take 3.5 to 4 ounces in one go. As he has good number of wet and poopy diapers, it does not worry me. He is now trying to sleep for about 4 hours at a stretch at nights...we try to change his diaper without waking him but have not yet mastered the art. At night he wakes up only for his feeds and diaper changes. The evening times are bad for him because of gas. I have eliminated almost all \";suspect\"; items from my diet, the only thing left to try eliminating is coconut. I give him Mylicon and once the gas is out, he is a happy baby.
My husband is great with the baby, he does all the feeding, rocking to sleep and diapering through the night, I go back to sleep after pumping. But he travels Monday to Thursday, and those nights I take care of our son. So, it is an equal responsibility with us. My husband has always been this way, even when I was pregnant and before that, he does not let me do any cooking etc...so I am thoroughly pampered by him.
During the day, my parents are looking after him since I go to work...all in all it is a great arrangement. I cant wait for the day my son starts talking so he can tell me \";Mommy it hurts here\";....He is a happy baby, and cries only when gassy. It sure is amazing how fast babies grow, I guess before we know it, they will be taking our keys to the cars!
Hope all of you are enjoying motherhood and parenting. It is a glorious time and surely the happiest phase in our lives.

Do write in with your updates, it will be nice to catch up with each other.

Take Care
Suni
