Hi Gals,
Howz everyone's life going on with the
lil one's? must be tiring as well as having fun i guess..I have just copmpled my 7 weeks PP last monday & this morning AF showed with cramping..i am sure itz a period ...i am wondering howz it possible to get period this soon when i exclusively breastfeeding...did any of u gals have any idea about this??pls let me know...takecare everyone & lotz of love to ur lil one's...

Hi Ashra,
I got my periods just as my baby turned 6 weeks. It was unusually heavy with clotting. I checked with the doc and he says its normal, the first menstruation after the deliver is usually heavy and lasts for a week or more.

Your periods showing up at 6 weeks is normal too for mothers who're not breastfeeding or feeding very less.

I dont think you should worry, just eat well and rest during your menstruation, it tends to make you weak the way it did to me but thank God its over now and I am so relieved.

I too got mine when babies were 2 months old. My Gyn told its common and it may mean that ur milk is low or may get low or I am weak and no rest.
Now they r three months old and I got it again. But fortunately milk is still the same... hope it dont get low.
Take care and do visit ur doc.

to the best of my knowlege its normal to get period even if you are breastfeeding and this early . However I would advise you to call your obgyn and discuss.
