Due Date Club November 2003:How r the babies sleeping?

Hi everyone

Hope all the moms and their cuties are doing well.. most Nov babies are at the 2 month milestone now, arent they?
I wanted to ask you all about babies' sleep cycles.. are u guys getting enough sleep at night. Soham sleeps well but wakes up every 2.5-3 hrs for a feed. His ped says he should be able to sleep 4-5 hrs at a stretch now but I dont know how to get him to do that.. Any suggestions?

Other than that he's doing really well.. loves bath time and smiles so much.. really makes me feel all fuzzy and warm when he returns my smiles:) Am scared about his 2 month Ped visit coming up.. 3 shots! How r u guys coping with it?

Take care and keep posting
Vandana

Hi,

My baby doesn't sleep for more than 3.5 hours either and very rarely for 4 hours..however at night he does go without a feed for 5 or even 6 hours at times..

My boy got his 2 monthly shots..They aren't so bad when the get it. He cried momentarily cried. There were drops of blood on both his thigs which probably made ,me feel worse than he did. He was a very upset soul though when he woke up after his naps during the day..I assumed it might have beena slighly stiff leg though there was no inflamation..by night time my original baby was back..

The smiles surely are wonderful..I talk him him a lot..Sometimes he gets so excited that he almost makes a laughing so sound..It is so wonderful..I just love it..Take Care

Hi Vandana,

Good to hear about Soham's smiles, they are priceless.

Niya sleeps for almost 6-7 hours continously. I try waking her up to feed, but she doesn't seem to be interested.

Niya had her hepatitis shot at two weeks and she was fine. Though I am not sure about her next shot in two weeks. I am sure Soham will be fine.

Good luck with the appointment.

Love to Soham,
Vindhya

Hey Vindhya

Wow you are really lucky Niya sleeps so well.
Yeah Soham was fine with his hepatitis shot too, but I dont know how he'll handle 3 shots in a day. My Ped joked that I should take some tylenol myself too! True though..I think I will need it more than him :)

Good luck to all the chweeties for their shots!

Hey Vandana,

Yeap, all the cuties will be 2 months soon.
Ashna's sleep pattern is also like your Soham. She wakes up about every 2 to 2.5 hrs to feed. Her pediatrician also suggested she should be able to sleep 4 to 5 hours strech. But, just like you I am confused cuz she is awake earlier than that and we can't do much about it but feed them. I guess they will soon come to that schedule slowly. Not all babies are same so for now I would just go with her flow.
Good to hear about Soham smiling a lot. Ashna also smiles a lot and doesn't take her eyes off her dad once he returns back from work:) After that she doesn't even know me or need me:(
About shots, they tend to get sick. Ashna had her 4 shots on monday already and she was running some fever and was dull.

Take care of you and hopfully Soham will be fine after shots.

Ashna is feeling much better now.

With Hepatitis B babies don't get sick but at her 2 months one they tend to get sick. So, just ask your doc about giving Tylenol.
By the way, you are lucky not feeding her every 2-3 hrs. I am tired of doing that.

Hi Arshiya,

Sorry to hear about the fever, it's hard to see her dull. Hope she feels better soon.

My doctor never talked about Tylenol, will talk to him about it.

Love to Ashna,
Vindhya

Ya, her doc suggested the same thing as your doc but I guess she also had pain & swelling at the place of shots. So later he suggested to rub ice on it and it helped but before that she cried a lot and mom did too:(

Hi Arshiya

Did your Ped ask you to give Ashna tylenol drops before the shots? Mine has asked us to do that and also that we wud have to continue giving them every 4 hrs after the shots for a day or 2.
How is lil' Ashna doing.. lotsa love to the cutie

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
