Single parents need some additional documents in addition to documents required for adoption procedure. this is bcos they need to show that they are capable of raising a child. In addition to regular documents such as address proof, single unmarried adoptive parents need to give a Letter from a close relative stating the relative will take care of the child, in case of an unforeseen event or circumstances. In case of single parent due to divorce, legal separation decree is to be submitted.
