Hi Reena,

I am 33 weeks now and just had my flu shot. I think it is pretty safe to take it. It provides immunity to you and the baby as well. Very minor dose of the virus is given to you so that your body starts responding and produces antibodies to the virus. So, this way you have enough antibodies to fight against the virus if you encounter with it. I was in medical research and was working with different kinds of flu viruses. And was growing them as well. As far as I know, the vaccine does not contain mercury in it. The virus is grown in the amniotic fluid of the eggs and is then used for vaccine purposes. First of all, if the vaccine has mercury, I don' t think your doctor will encourage to give it to his pregnant patients.

Anyways, choice is yours. Good Luck with it.
Jyothi.

Hi

I would never take one during pregnancy or ever. I don' t even give it to my kids. I would rather have something homeopathic. Where are you?

Not to worry
If you want a normal delivery, ask your doc first to try vaginal delivery if not then go for forceps delivery where baby can taken out with the help of tongs...
