I am in my 27th week and have gained only about 3-4 kilos since conception. The doc says that it is fine since I am quite overweight to begin with. But for sometime now I have a feeling that maybe my baby is not growing. Is there anyway one can say that the baby is growing. Also can you please suggest ways to overcome anxiety or is it normal for the first child.

Hi
You can gothrough the ultrasound and can know your babys growth, I had a friend whose weight was the same during pregnancy since she had a healthy weight, you initially loose a kilo or so and then gain, In our total weight its just 2.5kilos in all of our baby till Nineth month, baby just gain about 100gms or so every week after 7th month,so dont worry.

Thanks All for your advises. Actually you are right I was just anxious. Last week I got admitted for palpitations. My pulse went up to 150. I had all tests done. Doc said that the baby is thin at the abdomen otherwise everything is fine. I feel better and pulse is also getting better.

I think everything will be fine for all of us. Just be happy.

Hi Yama,

I know exactly how u feel..but if clinically your doctor feels that everything is all right, I dont think u should worry so much.
However, if u're still anxious, u might consider having a USG after discussing with ur doc..
And far as anxiety goes, I think its quite normal, as u want the best for your baby.
So, dont worry, have faith.. and everything would be fine..

Though its the first time for me too but I think your tummy size tells you a lot. My tummy size has increased quite a bit in last 3 weeks ans I can feel the kicks and various other movements which I think are an indication tht baby is doing alright.

May be Archie can shed some light on this.

This is also first time for me, I end up eating do much I gained 4 kgs in last month :(. Thinking tht I should eat more for baby. Since my pregnancy i have gained 8 kgs. I dont know how am i goin to shed this weight later.

I think you can go for US to see baby growth.
