How are you all doing? Hope you are doing fine and enjoying time with your son/daughter(s). I hope everyone is recovered well. COming to me, I am doing fine. Feeling better after surgery too. Not 100% energytic, but i can say 85% ok. how about u all? I have started pumping milk when my baby is two weeks old and trained him to drink with bottle also. Now he is adjusted to day time bottle feeding and night time from me. As I had taken only 8 weeks maternity leave, I had to get back to work from dec 1st. By then my baby will be exactly 4 weeks old. AS my mom is here and my office is next to our house, i hope this should work. Think i will be in touch more frequently when i get back to work.

Girls, i have a question. I am pumping milk and keeoing in the fridge for 2 days. I am storing in small quantities. that will be suffient for one feeding. I keep the bottle in hot water to warm the milk. Some times, he doesn't complete fully. In that case, how many hours can i keep that milk in room temp or fridge. currently i am keeping only for 1 hour and if he doesn't drink with in an hour i end up throwing. Can u guys shed some light on this?

DOn't think u can keep thawed breastmilk..i will confirm with my lactation consultant. Rather what i do is what i pump i keep in the fridge..first..that is if i pump i keep in fridge,then later again another bottle and once both are chilled i mix them in a vacuum sealed bag u get for breastmilk storage and keep in freezer. (imp: u should not mix fresh expressed milk with chilled milk is like thawing)
then u can ask ur mom to just take an ounce or 2 as per the avg baby's feeding needs..u do get bottle warmers that are safe for heating breastmilk in 5 mins..u can check out those warmers instead so u won' wait so long for thawing.

How is pumping in office going on..hoping it goes fine with me too..that i am bit worried taking time off 2-3 times in office.

Another thing i worry about is since pumping doesn't empty breast like a baby does...will it be enof..thats why i am freezing all extra whenever i can so there is no shortage later, asking about formula to my ped too so once a while if less she will not be hungry later.
Wonder how many ounces we should get in the first month..i get 2-21/2 ounce per breast in the morning (becoz the long gap of feeding i think) , evening is the lowest around 2-2 1/2 from both.
so have to check if that much pumped is enof..though pump goes slower later, if i hand expresss still lkeep getting more so wondering if its enof. how about u?
anyway thinking if its less, i have no option but to supplement will see from dec 1st..starting schedule of feeding like office hours. hoping baby will adjust.
will be 8-9 weeks by then so hoping will be fine.
