Hi all,

after being recommended by one of my friends to Dr.Patil, I firstly googled her and found that most of the reviews were much against her! however, as I a friend of mine who' s been childless for so many years finally succeeded with her I thought I might as well give it a try and if I do not like the approach at any point of time I would stop going there.

so last friday I went for a first consultation with her and yes I do agree that she isnt very chatty.. but point is we all are looking for professionalism and skills at the end of the day isnt it? So anyway, I had been to her again today and to my surprise she herself did the scan. My earlier experience has always been done by a radiologist or an assistant doc, was happy that she herself took care of things.

Let me tell you all that even thought today was my second visit, I have a good feeling of this (well I hope I dont get disappointed later).

I am on tab.siphene now with IUI (its my 2nd cycle). My blood test has also come out normal and I would be going for an HSG test after a few days (makes me wonder why my previous doc never suggested for it earlier).
I would say that judging from my second visit, I think Dr.Patil is very professional and I am happy of the fact that she answered each of my questions (ofcourse I did feel that her voice or her way of saying wasnt conventionally ' polite' ) never the less, I got my answers.

my husband is also due for the test, fingers crossed for that too.

will keep you all updated.

Hi Preeti and ananya,

I am ttc since 1 and half year and no luck. i am planning to visit Dr Madhuri Patil. what are your further experiences. I stay in Whitefield and have heard reviews against her. But you both were having something good about her. I had visted cloudnine Dr vidya desai..she was not so good and is not approachable, so I am thinking of changing my Doctor.

Hi,
I will definitely recommend Dr. Madhuri Patil. I have had an IUI by her and it worked in the 1st cycle. She doesnt sit n talk a lot but she answers any questions you may have. She has been very nice to me and I didn' t find her overly expensive also.
I have had a very nice experience. My vote is in favour of her.

Well, I had a very bad experience at Gunasheela.

I had done the HSG there, and we were a group of 6 ladies to do the test, we were made to wait in a common room and then taken one by one to the room where the HSG was done. They didn' t even bother to close the door, and you could hear women screaming in pain when the procedure was done. It was dreadful to await your turn for the same.

After the procedure, when you are sedated, you were accosted by a helper to a common bed,(forget about curtains and privacy) while you are still bleeding. No basic amenity like a pad was offered. And after an hour, one was rudely told to leave.

Sadly, I have been to quite a few IVF clinics and I don' t find anybody even trying to make the experience a bit pleasant for the couple.

Hi Reeti,

I am sorry to hear about your experience but at the same time I am a bit surprised too. My experience was very different.

I went to Gunasheela about 4 months ago and I have started my treatment there. They advised to have a HSG as well. But they also offered to give me a general anesthesia. They had an anesthetist during the procedure and I did not feel any pain at all. My x-ray was also read the same day and I got to talk to the doctor. I am continuing my treatment there because I think they are the only place that actually takes time to explain things and extremely transparent and so we do not feel like we are being taken for a ride.

Subject:  Rude doctor

I would like to inform all the gulliable wanna be parents to think twice before draining al your money to Dr patil.
She is (and her staff) one of the rudest people around who would say anything to any patient, when apart from his treatment he requires bit of motivation and consolness to all the worried patients. For every visit she would charge you seven fifty to eleven hundred. first visit is four thousand fixed. This suctions would continue till she eventually drains twenty thousand from you and would then tell you real problem. She takes tousand rupees for every word (rude one of course) she says and that too only if you ask. The spemen collection room is right in front of waiting lounge were the staff lady who hands you bottle sits right in front of gate with other patients in front, expecting you jerk, with a evil smile face. there is no privacy when you talk to doctor when she asks several embaracing questions like when u have and how u have it right in front of 5-6 ladies nurses in her roon noting / watch your story and smiling. She sees 2 patients at a time running around 2 rooms giving each patient avarage 30 secs to tell his issue. She also shouts and gets rude in case you ask the same question again just in case you do not understand what she is doing or planning to do. You would always be reffered to by some incompitant doctor from wockhardt hospital.
I was told all is ok with me and my wife. after 2 months of treatment when nothing happened she did not even uttered a work to explain the reason and starting blabbering when asked. She treats patients like beggers with no compassion to trauma husband and wife suffer.
It is better if you do not become parent rather than suffer humilition with her in her clinic.

Hi all,
I would like to write my review about the doctor and the clinic. I have been to 3 different doctors/ clinics in Bangalore before going to her. She is a one women army in the clinic. And she rushes to make things fast. That is why she doesnt spend much time with patients. But,whatever questions we have raised have been properly answered by her. And I found her staff to be very kind and cooperative. I have been going to ehr clinic for 3 months and now I am expecting. I have been to many doctors who talk nice, show compassion, but left with no result to show. I strongly tell every one who visit Patil´ s clinic to have patience . Dont expect the doctor to tell everything to you. You have to ask questions which I am sure either the doctors/ duty doctors will answer. n I beleive all the infertility treatement comes with more than 50% luck.If it is the right time, it will click. So, dont get tensed even if you dont conceive in 4-5 months. Medical system is so advanced that it can do wonders. I am not sure on the success rate of IVF in patil´ s clinic. For me it was IUI which worked and I am very greateful to her and her staff. But be ready to shell out money. ( That is same with any infertility clinic)

One thing we ( my husband and I) have decided for sure. We will make our baby choose doctor profession (esp Infertility specialist) and will offer treatements at free/ very very nominal rate than looting money from patients.

Subject:  She is having no Knowledge at all

Writing Books and opening up a plush centre in the locality does not mean that the doctor is having any knowledge. She is one of the nightmares I had. Had it not been a trip to my hometown at Muzaffarnagar near Delhi, I would have been in one of the pathetic conditions. We started visting Dr. (I am not even sure whether she is a doctor) Patil, in the month of July 2008. Her cash registers started ringing from their onwards. She will show you she is one of the most committed doctors at times but the worst part is she will conceal information from you to make her cash registers ringing. We shelled out almost 25-30 K for various tests she suggested at her clinic but to no avail. She did a lot of scans, ultrasounds and did the follicular study but all that was a gimmick for making money.
In Nov,2008 we had a plan to go at my place. And there we were on my b´ day. My folks asked me to visit one of the renowned doctors in India, Dr. Nutan Jain of Vardhman Hospitals at Muzaffarnagar. And in the very first scan she told me that you have a very large cyst which is almost 1-2 years old. It needs to be removed for any further medication or for a chance to get pregnant. It came as a surprise because I was never told this thing by Dr. Patil. What the hell she was doing during those scans and ultrasounds? So we decided that we will have a second opinion and we drove down to Noida Fortis Hospital and got every tests done. And it was confirmed that I am having a cyst. Finally we went to Sarvodaya Hospital for the laproscopy procedure.
Though Dr. Nutan Jain is a famous doctor but the problem is that for every test you have to go out of the hospital as they have limited no. of testings available at their hospital, but her diagnostics are perfect. She will let you know each and every minute detail.

The minute you enter the Dr Patil clinic, you must remember that the cash register has started clocking hundreds of Rupees. She recommends a lot of unwanted tests. They charge around Rs 450 for a so called consultation which consists of the doctor speaking rudely. And then answering in mono syllables to your questions. You are left more confused than you were to start with.

Besides you are surrounded by 4 people consisting of nurses, doctors in training etc during consultation and scan. Relating one´ s personal and reproductive history to a doctor can be embarassing enough, but with 4 other people around it is extremely disconcerting and uncomfortable.

Apart from this, I was shocked at the way the nurses collect blood samples. In my case the nurse poked a vein with a needle of a syringe head and then poured the dripping blood into a old, cracked test tube. Some of the blood spilt down my hand. In another girl´ s case, it spilled to the floor. If such basics are bad, then imagine how the clinic would be..

Avoid...

IVF via Donor Sperm
Hi, we are planning for ivf via donor sperm as we have genetic history wherein my daughter is ASD and mine own brother is ADHD hence genetic counselor said there is risk of 15-20 percent of child being autistic if we use our own gamet. If male child is born the risk is higher than a girl child.

Hence we thought to go for donor sperm. But there is still risk... - SS [View Message]
