my cousin too has pcos.but there are wonderful medicines available now.she got pregnant after using clomid.now she has 6 month old twins.clomid makes you release two or more eggs in a cycle.so chances of having twins or triplets is very high.since you know that you have pcos even before you are trying for kids, you may consult doctor and she will put you on medication.so you dont have to worry about infertility.take doctor's advice and soon you will have a wonderful baby.good luck to you!

hello achu ammu,

i have the same opinion as \";Indian House Wife\";. there is no life threatening or total infertility issues associated with pcos. its just that you have to undergo some medication.

so no need to worry.

bye

Dear Achu Ammu,

PCOS has some effects on your fertility. Although PCOS itself is not 100% curable, there are many medications that help you ovulate, which can result in pregnancy. You can consult a good Gynec and she will direct you to a specialist on this.

You need not have to worry at all.. Here is a paragraph from a website for PCOS. \";PCOS symptoms are manageable by medications and changes in diet and exercise. Daily oral contraceptive pills and/or spironolactone are used to decrease excess facial and body hair. A healthy diet and regular exercise can control weight gain helping to lower insulin levels. Medications such as Clomid, metformin (Glucophage), or gonadotropins can be used to induce ovulation.\";

I have a friend who had this problem, and who used the ovulation inducing medications. She got pregnant. She was blessed with not one, two kids!!!! Twins!

So don't worry. You can grab some information to help you know more about PCOS from books/websites.

Regards.

Hi,

I think PCOS affects your reproductive efficiency. 73% of women who have PCOS struggles with infertility. So what you can do is getting the best medical care.

Also, there are many websites that would help you better your knowledge and understanding of your situation. For example www dot pcos dot net provides support and help for women with PCOS. And one more thing, there is a book available in the US, \";What to Do When Dr Says Its Pcos\"; Type this in at Amazon dot com and you can buy this book or find it from the nearest library.

Sit Tight and pray right!!!!

Good Luck!

Hi, we are planning for ivf via donor sperm as we have genetic history wherein my daughter is ASD and mine own brother is ADHD hence genetic counselor said there is risk of 15-20 percent of child being autistic if we use our own gamet. If male child is born the risk is higher than a girl child.

Hence we thought to go for donor sperm. But there is still... - SS [View Message]
