I had a question regarding various Medela breastpumps. Did you go for the Pump In Style Advanced, Original or Traveler. I am confused as to what the difference is between all these models. I was trying to order from bareware(.)net or breastfeedingexpress(.)com, but they are running out of stock. Do you know of any good online store to buy the pump. I was thinking of ebay, but haven't tried it so far. Any ideas?

Hi Vindhya,

I bought Pump-In-Style original style and it's pretty good. Even traveler is good it only has one more car charger and it costs only $10 more than original, not a big difference. I needed mine right away so I had my husband go to Babysrus and get one, since they didn't have any original left he bought traveler initially but I didn't want that so I got original one from medical supply store in our town. If you are not in hurry then definately you can try breastfeedingexpress(.)com and ebay. Also, I pump only once or twice a day so when we go out I can use that milk. But, try pumping after every feeding if you can, it will increase your milk supply for sure. Also, this pump is sooo good that it takes only 10 mints to pump and I am happy that its worth all that money.
Hope you got all the info. Sorry for late reply.

Vindhya,
Try craigslist,org..I got mine from there, Pump in Style Traveler for 170, the 2003 model. I got this one since I plan to pump once 'i get back to work. The backpack model is just easier to handle. I love it,.

Hi vindhya

I bought the Pump in Style original. I bought it from ebay for about $200. Its surely easier than manual pumping, and if yuo are going to use it extensively, its worth the money. I didnt find much of a diff betn the original and traveller versions, I dont think the Traveller is worth spending more money. I usually pump twice a day, in between feeds. That way I have 1 or 2 bottle feedings ready for the nite. My hubby takes care of the night feeds so I can catch some sleep :-)

Take care

Hi Jaya,

Have you tried the Pigeon brand that AB was mentioning. Or may be AB would have some advice regarding manual pumps.

Don't be sad, I am sure you'll find the right pump.

Hi AB,

I tried renting, but it is way too expensive. Monthly rent is about 60$ for hospital quality pump. I thought buying a new one was better as it costs 200$.

I do have a manual pump given by the hospital, but unable to pump. I find it very hard and hardly get any milk, but I am sure there is some. How are you managing with yours?

I'll try looking at the traveler pump. Thanks for the information.

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
