I am very new to the board....I have some concern
and need your comments.I am 26 year old and live in US.My period cycle is of 42 days.We are planning for a baby and have been TTCing for a month.My period is overdue more than a week.I thought I might be pregnant so yesterday took HPT but it came out negative....I think this is not normal..
I have taken the appointment with a GYN but its in dec 1st week....I am bit tensed...Can you tell me why this is happenning and what should I do?And also is 42 day of period cycle is matter of concern?

Rashmi,
your cycle length is concern. If it's always 42 days then there is a chance of pregnancy but with this long cycle you will need a gynecological help.

update!!

Dear Archie,
I somehow managed to get the appointment of GYN on Monday...She has prescribed me the medicine "medroxyprogesterone" which will help me to get my periods...About my perioud cycle she told its slightly out of order...She did the PAP smear test and said every thing seems normal
She also advised me to keep the track of my ovulation date(for 2-3 months)and to check whether I am ovulating regularly or not.

Archie I want to let you know that my period cycle is not always of 42 days..Its 38-42 days....

I have some question regarding ovulation...Since I have irregular and late periods,does it mean I am not ovulating regularly?And what should I do for keeping track of my ovulation?Should I use OPK or BBT or both?One more last question should I take medicine to regularise my periods(My GYN didn't say anything about this)or is it ok for me to try to conceive with this period cycle...
