Hey guys, my son has a rash all over his face and head...
my doc said that most babies have them as they are getting used to all the things they come in contact with...

wondering if any of you have any inputs/suggestions........

Hi Avi,

Arjun too had an awful rash on his face and it started when he was a little over two weeks and last for almost 3 weeks.. Everone I consulted (doctore, nurse, 24 hr helpline) told me that this is a hormonal rash caused by breast milk in newborns.. It used to really upset me seeing my cutie pie with a red face plus not mention the trouble we had trying to get a decent photo for his passport without a red face. My suggestion is that you just leave it as it is and don't apply anything for it..It will eventually go away as your baby's immune system becomes stronger.
All the best - Ritu

Hi Avi,

Niya had it too, but it just disappeared after a day or so. Her doctor didn't recommend anything. So, I am assuming baby Nikhil will be fine soon.

Make sure everyone washes their hands before touching the baby.

Vindhya, my hubby has been laying him on the couch and on the bed with no sheet underneath...that could be it too...
and I think I am the only one washing my hands in boiling hot water and a ton of antibacterial liquid every two minutes...

I need to be more insistent on others doing it too...

Avi,
IS it like little red bumps all over? Aditya had them too..started on his cheeks , then spread. Its reducing now. I did'nt do anything and the doc did'nt seem too concerned. I did change one thing...I was using Playtex baby wash for his bath...I have now switched to Dove Unscented. ALso I am giving Olive oil massage. I don't know if that helped or the rash just went away by itself.
It could also be hormonal ( yours).
Hope that helps.

Yes Priya, red grainy little ones all over his face and on his head(since he doesn't have too much hair i can see them all over)
and yeah, doc said it would happen...

I am using J&J head to toe body wash right now, but will surely try changing it and see if it works...
thanks for your input....

I will try the massage too... I was just thinking about it but wasnt sure if a month old was old enough for it....

Diaper Service Provider,Bangalore
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
