I had little pain yesterday but don't know if its time to go??? Pain was not very strong and lasted for about 2 hrs but later it was ok. Do anyone know what could have caused the pain? I am very scared now for the baby and make sure that I observe movements. Will be going for weekly appointment to Dr on friday so will ask detail that time.

Sakhi Mekha replied. Hope the pain you felt was just the prepration of the body for the big event. I was scared too when i had abdominal cramping at 32 weeks. It was continuous for me so doctor called me in. She had to do the internal exam this early due to the cramping. Everything is fine so far but i still get that pain sometime and also on the back. Nivea, my baby is pretty active and it seems baby still got room enough to move around.

It was nice reading your posting. Since its my first baby, many times I get scared and do not know what to expect.

Nivea, in my 36th week, I also had a scan and my baby was 2.6 kg which means just .3 kg bigger than urs, that time Dr said she expect the birth weight to be around 3.2 - 3.5 kg for me which is more than perfect. But she said anything between 5 to 8 pounds is normal weight and weight has nothing to do with health of the baby. So don't worry.

Jyotsna, how are you doing otherwise? Hows ur weekly appointments?

Girls, I am still working. (got surprised???) I will be taking off from monday onwards. Hope to get more and more time with my baby.

Dont worry Sakhi. These false pains are pretty common at this last stage. Its basically our body & muscles preparing for the big event. In any case.. Since u are already past teh 37 th week,,, dont panic. If the pains keep increasing in intensity..then u ought to call ur doc rightaway. Else it should be fine.

Today I too went for my weekly check up. I've gained 900 gms this week which was a consolation ! Also They did a scan. As per the scan its 36 weeks. And the baby is just about 2.3 kgs it seems. Now doesnt that seem quite less girls !! I hope the baby makes up for the weight in due course of time !!

How are the movements for all of you?
My doc has given me a kick chart to keep track now.

Padmaja..no news from u...Do keep us posted. Jyotsna hows ur cough +cold now.
My daughter & hubby too have caught the viral fever and i only hope i dont fall prey to it now !!

Sakhi,true labor pains will begin as bad period cramp starting from the lower back radiating towards the front of the pelvic region.It will be brief initially but will build up if its true labor.I have been having a lot of crampy feelings especially in the lower back and front and also tend to get worried.Even if the baby's head is down,it has to engage into the pelvic area(cervix)before dilation starts.This will mark the onset of labor.
These days especially in the last stretch,pain in the abdomen region and back is common.This time round i am very much aware of it too.I go for a walk when i get too worried as i know ive got to bear up with it.Deep down am apprehensive and just want to fastfoward to the baby's arrival but well \";no pain-no gain\";
The pain for you could have happened due to the baby's shiftinf position.Am sure the doc will check you and let you know if the effacement/dilation has begun and how far off u r.
