A newbie here, used to belong to Dcember 2004 club and so yes, this is my second baby.
EDD is 2 June 07. First appointment will be 15 November. Haven't told anybody except hubby but I think my Mom has guessed by now.
We are planning to go to India by Nov end, so plan to surprise everyone.
Thinking I'll make Saumya (my daughter) wear a 'I'm going to be a BIG SISTER' T-shirt.

Kind of a long intro for a newbie but look forward to knowing more about you all make a good support network here.

Big Sister T-Shirt

I liked the idea of this Big Sister T-Shirt. Infact here in India, we need to go to the doctor for check up as soon as we miss our periods. I dont know abt other gynec, but my gynec has a sonography machine at her clinic, and i need to go to check up every month. In the last check up, she showd us abt how the womb has been formed in the sonography screen. Its actually great fun to watch it in the 5th month, they actually show u each part of the baby.

So you will be having a wonderful trip to India, becoz once all the family members know abt ur pregnancy, all that pampering will be there.

So which part of india will u be visiting. Its like we all are getting into a interesting loop. We will miss you when you will be on vacation. Take care while travelling.

India trip

Hi! Shilpa,
Here in US, the doctor's first appointment is scheduled between 9-12 weeks. They do all the check ups and check for baby's heart beat. No ultra sound unless you are a high risk pregnancy. Then monthly check ups and an ultra sound at 20 weeks, where you get to see baby's organs and count toes and fingers and if interested find out the sex of the baby.
During my first pregnancy I was very nervous and calling doctor every week to make sure my experiences are normal but this time around I'm very cool, I guess, I have now realised that its a natural process and most of the changes that are happening are normal. I am not too freaked out about being pregnant...a lot of times, I even forget that I am pregnant. Hopefully, things will get exciting once my belly start showing and other people around me are curious about it.

I am looking foward to my India trip, my brother is getting married so I'll get to meet most of my extended family as well, I am looking forward to it.
I'll travelling to Delhi, Kanpur, Lucknow and to A'bad.

I think it is a good idea for you to announce in the family visit. They'd be thrilled.

We live in USA.
Australia, so its spring now and you'll have you baby in Autumn...its so amazing for me still to realize that the seasons are flipped.
