Due Date Club December 2002:Gums problem

I am having problem with my gums. It bleeds some times when i take a bite of any fruits or vegetables. My dentist says that this is normal in pregnancy due to hormonal changes. He has given me an oral mouth wash and suggested cleaning.

Has any body had this problem ? Let me know if anybody has any queries pertaining to this, as I will be visiting the dentist for cleaning on Monday and can clear any doubts anybody has.

Bleeding gums

Bleeding gums is common in pregnancy.My gums too bleed once in a way.We've got to take good care of teeth during pregnancy.Avoiding sweets or making sure that we rinse or brush after every meal helps.I too use floss everyday.

Hai fatima,
I am mahak going through same problem.
as my friends suggesred not go for a clean during preg, i use dental floss every day and try to clean the teeth before sleepingin the night. still if you visit a dentist please let him know you are pregnant

Hi Mahak

I had been to the Dentist on Monday. He did an overall cleaning and said that there is no problem at all in doing so while pregnant. He has also given me a gum paint for strengthning my gums. I am using the paint and mouth wash from last 2 days and my bleeding has almost stopped.

same problem

even i too have this problem. its mostly due to calcium defeciency. take food containing calcium. u may feel the diff. within a few days.
