i am 29 yrs old female ..i had an iud 2 months ago after my delivery n my baby iz now 4 months old.i am putting on weight a loot..but i have a doubght abt exercise...i somehw feel that if i do skipping or jump vigorously my iud will expelll out...am i wrong?will thiz happen??..n what are the exercises we shud avoid after an iud??plz helpppp

my gyn was a stupid..i asked her abt thiz ..she juz laughed at me n said nothing to worry abt anyhting..and i asked abt cheking string..she asked me how come u urslef will check it..u shud visit a gyn n check it..which made me feel that she'z teasing me..any ways i didinot talk back to her.

Skipping is an excellent exercise. Dancing that you do can be done for about 10 mins as a warm up. And don't forget to stretch at the end of your exercises...very important.

I do tread mill for 20 mins and then I do either the bicycle or elliptical trainer for 10 mins after which I use dumb bells and a step to do lunges which is good for butt and thighs. Some days I also run about 10 rounds. If you have not exercised for some time you need to work ur self up slowly..maybe start by doing 10 mins of each and also running about 1/2 rounds and then add one more every week.

Didn't ur gyno who inserted the IUD give you any advise? Mine told me that during your period on heavy days always check your pad to see and after period is finished you squat and insert your finger right up to your cervix and you should be able to feel a slight string or thread there. If you can feel it, it means the IUD is secure. Also, during intercourse your husband can feel it but that is hard because if you are wet then he can't tell. With me the squatting and feeling for it after period works well. Also though this is not relevant to your question please go for a pap smear once a year.

thanx priya..what are the exercises u do.plz advice..i used to do skipping-20 times,dancing-2 to 3 min,walking 15 to 30 min..and if there's a risk of iud expelling out after our periods how we know that itz in proper place?and i am still afraid of pregnancies with iud...even if it has 1% of failure rate..i always fear that what if i am that 1.....plz advice

It won't expel upon exercises. The only risk is after your periods and sexual intercourse. Apart from that if an IUD is inserted correctly by a gyno it can not come out. I have had it for 2 years now and have no problems and I exercise every day.

So don't worry and look after your weight thru correct exercise and diet.
