Hello All,
hope you guys are having nice pregnancy !! for the past one day I think I am experiencing urinary tract infection. I am having slight pain in the right side of lower abdomen. I am afraid to talk to doctor as she would prescribe me some antibiotics and I don' t want to have one as it is not good to take medicines during pregnancy. Did anyone of you had similar problems and how did you all dealt it. Any home remedies????
hope to hear from you all soon!
Take care,
Ishi

Relax Ishi, i too suffered with mild urine infection at around 12th week of pregnancy.. it' s very common during pregnancy..i was prescribed capsule called phoexin for 5 days.

need not worry at all there are special antibiotics avaible which are absolutely safe during pregnancy..May be infection is mild and she can just prescribe an oinment!!

plzzz talk to your doc as hiding things from her will only welcome further complcations..

Drink plenty of water, that' s what my doc suggested after the treatment..

Take care,
Get well soon!

I did make an appointment with my doc, however, after increasing my water intake and my pain did reduce and was feeling OK. However, don´ t have symptoms like fever, burning sensation while passing urine so maybe its not UTI...the pain I was referring came back again yesterday after a long days of work, the pain is not continuous , it is felt while changing position, however, today after a complete rest the pain is gone, so lets see what my doc has to say about this.
You take care,
Ishi

hi ishi,

it' s best if you tell your doc coz if it is only a mild infection she may only prescribe an ointment which will have to be applied in the area.. if you don' t inform her then it may get further agitated and may complicate things for you.. i don' t want to alarm you but these things are best left to your doc to decide..

in the meanwhile of course, drink PLENTY (& i mean plenty) of water, eat a lot of curds, (i have heard that you can also apply curd temporarily in the area to relieve itching and burning) and in addition, drink cranberry juice.. if you are in India then Real Dabur Cranberry juice is available in any grocery store.. make sure it hasn' t expired coz some stores want to get rid of their old stocks..

also.. following are the symptoms of urinary tract infection:-

1. severe itching or burning while passing urine
2. thick yellowish-green discharge
3. fever
4. back pain
5. abdominal pain

in these cases you have to, HAVE TO, just simply have to get treatment... so i urge you to talk to your doc and see what she has to say.. antibiotics aren' t always needed if infections are mild.. so if you get it checked NOW then you will save yourself from having to take strong antibiotics..

let me know what happens.. take care and i' m hoping you don' t have UTI...

The pain is not continuous,it is felt when I make changes in position..well today I was feeling OK, no pain, so don´ t know what´ s happening....lets see what my doc as to say!
