My wife and I are planning on doing an IVF since it is the only option for us (we had consulted other doctors and had done an IUI also which was a negsative result). I have been consulting Dr.Vasan and am very confiortable with him.

I need to know if anyone has done IVF in Manipal Hospital and would like to know all the details about it, regarding the procedure, the success ration in Manipal Hospital in Bangalore, cost, post procedure requirements (like how long to take rest, how long before my wife can go for work, etc)

And how painful is the stuff...injections n all

Thanks Monica,ur input was very helpful..actually we have to go for ICSI now...dont know what to do....Had 3 failed IUIs at Manipal...now cant decide between Gunasheela and Manipal for ICSI...What u said abt the docs saying bad quality eggs later....has happeneed for one of my frnds too....can u pls help...we r really confused..... One of my friends had a v bad experience with Madhuri Patil.She didnt ask her to stop a teratogenic drug while she was pregnant and luckily for her another doctor at another hospital saw that she was taking it and asked her to stop it immediately.When asked Patil about it,she just brushed it off like it' s nothing serious. Aisha replied. All i can say is i have experienced Maduri Patil in Bangalore and i am a very unsatisfied patient.She doesn' t give much personal attention. You won' t get time to discuss your concerns and you will be rushed through the whole thing like you are running late for some place.I won' t recommend that place to anyone.

before we finalised Manipal, we had checked with other hospitals like Wockhardt, cradle, Appollo, they dont do these treatments. there are many small hospital, wch are just performing IVF/ ICSI /IUI treatments, but in those places wheather staff is not helpful, or infrastructure is not good, and personal attention is not given to patient, thier approach towards these treatments are business oriented. they dont deal with human approach. on this website itself i have heared people good experience with few centers, wch are not in bangalore, i got good review abt CRAFT ( Kerala ), Dr, Hinduja, Dr, Malpani Mumbai, please be v carefule before selecting any centers, its not a question of only money, bec if IVF/ ICSi cycle failed, its emotional Trauma to person. one loose faith in ownself. its v difficult to come out from this. one will be emotionally exausted. its my personal exp. in my case just after failed ICSI, i wasnt able to take it and went in to depression, so we decided not to give another try and we adopted a baby gal,

My ICSI costed me in Manipal is somewhere 2.60 lacs. As per my personal experience Its No to Manipal.Reason behind this is at the time of my ICSI everything went well, as per doc eggs retrived was grade 1 eggs, But when ICSi failed doc said your eggs were not good quality eggs, so go for 2nd ICSI with donor eggs. it was v shocking for us, as she changed her statement. Also they are performing 4-5 icsi in a day. in my session we were 6 ladies, noone of them conceived, they claim to have good sucess rate but its only on papers. you might be v confortable with Dr. Vasan, but ICSI procedure will be done by Dr, Bina Vasan and Team.Once the procedure is started, she need to take regular harmonal injection, wch they give on stomach. alternate day scan will be done to monitor folicolie growth. once follicole are grown, they will retrive the eggs. doc doesnt advise rest in post procedure. but its up to individual if you can go to work after having injections. after eggs retrival 3-4 days embryos will be transferred. after ET 4-5 hours you can take her home. now the complete bed rest is required for 15 days intil the pregnancy blood test is done, and agn she need to take medicine prescribed by doc and daily injection at home for leuteral support, these injections are quite painful, as its oil based content. do let me know if any other detail required.
