Waiting to try:TTC

Name: Jaya

Hi Archie,
I am TTC for some time now and I have read that u should put a pillow under the hips after intercourse.

I do that for almost 45 mins or an hour and then remove the pillow and sleep through the night without getting up even once.

But still in the morning, I see the semen coming out in considerable quantity. Is this normal?

Thanks

Yes, I have been using OPKs to detect the LH surge...I find it very useful and convenient way to predict my ovulation period. Since my cycle is mostly 28 days long, I start using the OPK from the day 11 and often see the surge around CD 13-15. I use Clearblue and would recommend the same to you.

Yes, I keep an eye on CM as well...in my case it is almost dry from CD 6 to CD 9, but from CD 10, it changes to tacky, and then becomes creamy around CD 12 and lastly slippery and stretchy around my Ovulation time.

Usually it is said when you notice the CM of eggwhite consistency ,that is your peak fertile time. To test this, you can use your index & middle finger and it should stretch from one to few inches...you will find it extremely slippery and easy to stretch( I know it sounds gross...but can't help it, sorry :-) . And most important thing, you will have a wet feeling when your body is producing the fertile CM( Atleast I feel that way). I have also read somewhere that the fertile CM tends to form a roundish pattern on your underwear where as the non-fertile CM doesn't - I don't know how far this is true, since I find it hard to tell the difference :( .

Hope this helps !

Good Luck again.

Dear Jaya,

Yes it is perfectly normal and common thing...oozing semen after intercourse is not a problem...infact my gynec said it is a good sign....ofcourse you can only see what is coming out, not what goes inside :-).

But from hygiene point of view, I think it is not a good idea to sleep through the night after intercourse without cleaning it...since it MAY cause some infection like UTIs etc. It is often advised that one should urinate before and after intercourse( both man and woman)...ofcourse you can lie down for 30 min, but then get up and clean that area with a damp tissue and go back to sleep.

Wish you luck for your ttc journey. Hope to hear a good news soon.

Oh yes...and I forgot to add that when I remove the pillow, I wipe off with a tissue while still laying down(just remembered after reading your reply)...but needless to say, it is not done properly.
But I think what you wrote about hygiene is true...will do what you advised from now on :).

Thanks for your reply, curious
Lots of baby dust to you

One more thing...have you ever tried OPK. I was thinking to use it. And lastly, do you know about the CM test?

Thanks
