archie and krsna, thanks for ur reply. i took pregnancy test today and it came negative. i got my last periods on 12th sep. it is more than 40 days now. so i went to my Gyn., and she asked me to take tablets, which will help to get the period. after my periods she asked me to fix an appointment for further treatment.

it's been 10 years i attented my puberty. but this is the first time i misses my periods. i expected very much this time, but i failed.

I have been following your posts lately....I know you had mentioned that your cycle length has been varying since the time you started ttc. I remember Krsna came up here with the same problem...and Archie (and I too)attributed it to stress. Although I am not a doctor, I still think it has a lot to do with tension, anxiety and stress. Sometimes it may be linked to thyroid problems or some medications....but only if you have missed your periods for 3 months in a row.

I understand your concern that this has never happened with you since your puberty, so worrying about it is pretty natural...but dear, keep one thing in mind- the more you worry, more alteration it will cause to your cycle length. I know its easier said than done, but try to remain calm and cool. And the good thing is that you have already seen your gynec- she is already doing her job to help you out.

And...please do not feel sad about the outcome...so what if you didn't conceive in this cycle...you may conceive in the next one. And once you conceive, you won't even remember these failures. Keep your self postive. See we are all sailing in the same boat...I too am in the same phase as you are and no success so far...but I am very very positive and confident that I will be a MOMMY soon. We should encourage each other.

By the way, are you charting your cycles or no? I think you must be knowing that the length of luteal phase( phase after ovulation) is usually fixed( with 1-2 days here and there)...so if you have any idea when you ovulated in the last cycle, you can calculate your next periods' due date. Yesterday only, I was reading on a website that if a woman, whose cycle is generally regular, misses her period in a month or gets her period a few days late than expected, is experiencing either Anovulation( no ovulation at all for that particular cycle) or a delayed ovulation..so a woman may think that her periods are delayed but in reality it is the ovulation that has got delayed due to some reason. So keep an eye on your ovulation timing.

Be optimistic...God will bless us soon. I am sure very soon we all will be sharing our pregnancy related issues on a due date club :-). Have faith in Almighty.

I had the same problem as u did in my alst cycle. My periods got delayed by 47 days and i was very hopeful that my pregnancy test would show positive but it didnt. I did eventually get my periods. So dont worry theres always the next cycle to try out. I know its easy to say but theres no other way to look at it. stay positive. things will work out fine. dont stress yourself too much cause stress could delay your periods. wishing you all the very best and loads of baby dust
